Well i took the cat to a different vet because the cat quite eatng and drinking and i was worried she is dieing, the other vet said the cat showed all the signs of parasites he said he seen it many times before he said the fecal exams the other vet did don't always show the parasites. He put baby on a massive 5 day worming program. Second day baby is starting to eat again and drink and the diareah seems to have stopped. He says she should be ok now but may take some time to get the cats weight back im relived and hope this is the her first step to health. He told me to bring her back in august for her shots cause she was to week for shots at the time he wants her to feel better before shots are given...Vet bill $49.00

It could be that kitty is just sensitive. And I too am not that impressed with Science Diet. One thing you could try is feeding kitty some boiled chicken and rice (the rice will help stop the diarrhea). It's gentle on the tummy and she'll love it. I would call the vet and tell them too and see what they say. But unless kitty get's real bad don't take her back until you've tried the chicken and rice. Also, have you been giving her milk???? Cows milk is no good for them and often causes diarhea. If you have been stop giving it to her. If you want to give milk there are some good "cat milks" that can be found in grocery stores, pet shops and feed stores. They are reasonable and much better for kitty. Hope that helps some and that kitty gets better! Good luck and best wishes!

Hi: Call your vet and tell him/her that the diarrhea is back and ask what you should do. Try to do this over the phone so you aren't charged for a second visit for the same problem. Make sure the kitty has cold clean water at all times and never give him/her milk. Feed the kitty hard food for kittens like kitten chow or something like it. I have had cats all my life and never did I pay for the high priced food. I just get what I think sounds good after I read up on them. I have 3 very healthy cats that the vet says look and act so young for their ages (1 is 18yrs old 1 is 13 and the other is 6) They each get 1 can of food a day and I keep a dish filled with the crunchy stuff all the time. Always leave fresh water for them. Good luck I hope this helped!!

I beg to differ. Science Diet is NOT a high quality food. It is "so so" . Not the worst, but there are better foods out there. Do your research. Check out the ingredients on your bag.
Look for more meat in the list of ingredients and less by-product, grain and vegetable products.Lack of color dyes and artificial preservatives can signal a good quality food.. Make sure the magnesium levels aren't so high, either.

The best quality foods are Innova Evo, Merricks, Solid Gold just to name a few.

Or you can just go with the famous "raw" diet.

I also would like to add that most vets (even mine) will say to use Science Diet. They make profits off of every bag they sell. If a vet EVER tells you that is a high quality food and one of the best on the market, please go find a new vet. They have just deceived you.

You should be able to return the unused cat food (Science Diet) to the vet's office, because they will get reimbursed by Science Diet. Also, make sure you are not giving her milk. Is her poop unusually stinky - that is the sign of a parasite and my vet said mine didn't have a parasite until I mentioned the unusally stink poop. I know kittens have stinky poop, but this would knock you out.

Hope this helps and kitty gets better.

some cats have sensitive stomachs and if you change their food rapidly then it will make them sick. yes, science diet is expensive because it is a really well made cat food that veterinarians recommend for a reason. I have a cat who has a sensitive stomach and he has been on Iam's, i believe it costs about the same as science diet so you will just have to keep spending the extra money on buying expensive cat food that is better for your cat instead of going to the vet a lot, which costs more than the cat food

With all the recall on pet food, it's much easier to return open food bags. So take it back and get something else. I personally don't like Science Diet. There are many good foods out there. Go to the pet shop and ask for their advice. All the best;^)

If her dioreah has come back... That may mean that the science diet did not really work...

the best thing to do would be... take her back and tell the vet what is happening and just think...

lucky it isnt anything worse...

Wish you and your cat all the best!

You might want to change the food he eats, check with vet first.
