can a lady enjoy sex before marriage legally in India?

No enjoying sex before marriage is not legally barred in India unless this is for some consideration of money that will amount to prostitution as provided under the IMMORAL TRAFFIC (PREVENTION) ACT 1956. Definition of Prostitution means the sexual exploitation or abuse of persons for commercial purposes, and the expression "prostitute" shall be construed accordingly. Any person man or woman indulging in sex for personal enjoyment will not be illegal unless they are unmarried as being married & indulgence in sex outside their marriage amounts to adultery that is ground for divorce. If a married or unmarried man indulges in sex with a married woman that will be punishable offence under section 497 of the Indian Penal Code as Adultery. Being an unmarried woman she can enjoy sex before marriage legally with an unmarried man legally if the above mentioned conditions are not infringed.

Aditi-you have posed a question and you also well know its answer .Looking at our Country and a wide range of different laws insinuated under Indian Penal Code and Criminal procedure Code it is gigantic task to enfoce such a law in india.
Well if two adults indulge in physical relationship at their will who could stop them not even the law.Our children have been taught the moral lessions right from the beginning of life that we shoul desist from such acts-which may immoral and acceptable to the societ--however developed we may.
Leave aside the West where they do not follow any moral code of conduct and they indulge in the sex only as a pleasure for them.How the ladies realise this dark aspect and the truth of life going in for pre-natal sex and then how successful they are in life is a very important question.
In India mother definately protects her daughter/daughters from all such miss happenings in society and at home and maintain the sanctity of viriginity till marriage.A little education does not permit our girls in the society for this type of misadventure.If some girs feel so they have not even grown up.
Suppose a girl submits to a boy's desire of sex promising of marrying her-but then how many such cases have solved the affected girs who have lost their virginity at their will of free submission.Tomrrow if a boy backs out and is lost in the thick population of India-the girl has either to abort or move court which takes years to hand over judgement.
I personally feel a lady should not opt for any such submissions and keep her friendship and understanding at a distance and remain a person of chastity which will command respect for her from all quarters.
As per the latest Supreme Court's Ruling in one such case,the Court has ruled that even penetration amounts to rape unless otherwise done with consent of the lady.
So it is very difficult question-which definately invites some Legal Bindings for Pre-Martial Sex but on the whole looking at our culture and society,we should avoid such acts of immorality and do not set bad example for others and lose respect from our own family and society.
BETTER AVOID SUCH AN ACT-- BEFVORE MARRIAGE THAT IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST.All the best.

OF COURSE YES !! U can have consentual sex in India after the age of 18 ( legally) otherwise any age u feel like ;) lol ! So if u r 18 and wanna have sex and let the world noe bout it.. go on gurl!! ;)

yes it is legal from the legal point of view to have a sex before marriage.but if we go by our moral teachings and religion then it not right to have it.
if you really in need to have it you can go for the marriage to satisfy your physical need.
still if you don't want marry you can have it but it will be legal in the eye of the LAW but it will be illegal from the religious point of view.so the choice is all yours!!

Legally it is allowed, but when you enjoy it, the Hindu fundamentalists appear.
So best thing is to do it, and leave the enjoyment part.

sex with both adults with both consent without any false promises. Religion says no to it but it is need but person should learn self control and on public places openly it looks odd.
