He watches romantic comedy with me but forgot my birthday. Every time I try to open up, it does seem as though he is pushing me away. Now, I have given up on it. Does he like me/intend to take things further?

Blokes don't do birthdays sounds like a typical man
My fella had his haircut the other day and I'd had mine done the same day as well, he came over and was have you noticed my hair has been cut, I had to say to him no but have you noticed my hair's been done,
Unless it's about football, beer or his car they don't notice stuff like this.
Go easy on him, if he forgets next year then worry but you've only been together 2 weeks, it's early days

Sounds like a stereotypical guy. He might be totally happy with the situation. For all we know, he might be considering marriage. It sounds like this is an unsatisfying relationship for you, and it seems unlikely he's going to change dramatically or suddenly.

He doesnt seem to interested in you, I would move on and try and find someone that does remember your birthday and listens when you open up, that show he cares
