I heard that practicing polygamy is one of them. But what besides?

antioccult7= What are you talking about? LDS doesn't practice polygamy. I was banned in 1890 and the ones that do are so-called "Fundamentalists", or FLDS. I hope you were just kidding!

Polygamy is an automatic out. If they vocally denounce church leaders or doctrines, when confronted by Church leaders, they refuse to repent. The president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Gordon B Hinckley) has stated that generally the church will try to work with those before any decisions are made. If your wondering about the churches reaction to Homosexuality, they will try to work with you. But it is a doctrine of the church that Homosexuality is a moral sin, just as adultery or fornication. Therefore if you practice homosexuality, you would be under the same consideration as one who practices adultery or fornication, and if you do not express a sincere desire to repent.... you can make the conclusion. And of course murder is an excommunicatable sin.

One can also be rebaptized into the LDS church after being excommunicated. Repentance is available to all of God's children and the LDS church believes heavily in that doctrine as taught in canonical writ.

PS I'm a Mormon, I love Dr. Pepper. I'm fully active, and considered in good standing with the church.

Lots of things. Mostly breaking theh covenants you make at baptism and more especially when you break the covenants you make in the temple.

Murder

adultery

apostasy

Those are the three biggies.

Also, anything like it, like molestation or abuse of others.

Some things are a maybe, depends on how your bishop feels about whether it would do you good, or if you can repent without it. Stealing things is a maybe (depends on how bad you stole). Abortion, drug or alcohol abuse, continually repeating a sin when you know it's wrong, those things are decided by the bishop.

IMHO

"Thinking" is a major taboo. You may not question the revelation (or opinion) of the prophet as he speaks for god (unless it is illegal), nor the teachings of the church (even if they might be illegal, or just plain wrong).

Six professors from BYU were ex'd for expression opinions, Simon Southerton's book about indian DNA, and many, many others. The likes of Boyd K Packer and Dallin Oakes demand absolute conformity to a doctrine they change with their garments.

So being smarter than an Apostle, while very easy, is a major offense, and will get your 'church cut off' (old Utah saying).

There's different things people can do to get excommunicated from the LDS church. Yes polygamy is one of them. Sexual sin is another.

polygamy is part of their religion, so how can having many wives get you excommunicated?
YOU ARE WRONG
Whats the point of being in a mormon cult if you can't have many wives?
