An active duty Army soldier can try and join the Air Force as a Prior Enlisted enlistee,

After they have completed their Army Active Duty commitment.

But the Army will not discharge you early, so you can enlist in the Air Force.

And there are no branch swaps from the Army to the Air Force.

There are branch swaps from the Air Force to the Army.

Also note, in 2007, the Air Force only let 47 Prior service members, enlist in the Air Force.

Yes, thats just 47.

And even then, they were looking for specific skills.

Rangers, Special Forces, Force Recon, Seals, linguist.

Or prior service AF who were Para Rescue, Combat Controlers, Linguist.

The answer is yes. However there are many variables in doing this. Most likley you will have to finish your current hitch.
Your past performance evaluations will play a big part in selling yourself to the Air Force. If you want to do the same MOS as the Army, the qualification criteria may not be the same for the AF.
At least 1 year before your EAOS, start talking to an Air Force recruiter. They may not have the MOS you are seeking available or you may not be qualified for it. It is possible you may have to retake the ASVAB in order to get what you want.

No. When the army and air force split, it was possible. You signed a contract with the US Army, not the US Air Force. If it was that easy, the army would have no one after a few months. Air force food is so much better....but alas, you are stuck. Suck it up. Embrace it. They are rather "soft", but I like them.,

be sure that's what you like, I even have been via what you're dealing with and that i'm a woman so my father and mom freaked! to coach them you're extreme paintings on your well-being as with the intention to connect you will would desire to be good mentally and bodily. yet another element to look into is cadets i don't understand in case you have them interior the U. S. yet while they do connect!!! i'm an RAF (royal air rigidity) cadet and that they are for our age to furnish a glimpse into existence interior the militia. You learn elementary soldiering mutually with shooting, patrolling, gown and drill and you have ranks and so on. this would be a extensive determination which you will desire to no longer take gently i grew to become into interior the shelter of honor for our rememberance parade and regrettably I also have a lot to bear in mind. one in each of my good acquaintances grew to become into killed in Afghanistan, my cousin lost a leg interior the comparable attack, 3 of my uncles and 7 greater cousins are serving the British military/air rigidity in Afghanistan so prepare that it quite is a burden on your loved ones it quite is a job with many risks yet to serve your united states of america is an honor so in case you connect continuously save that in the time of strategies.

the Air Force is currently not accepting any Prior service enlistees unless your current MOS translates directly to a job specialty that they have a high need for. you would NOT be able to change job specialties.
