My parents made my childhood both miserable and special. LIke we had certain times I remember that were specail, like when they'd take me to the communitry pool, or take me to these woods to feed the ducks. And things like that. They also worked and still do their buts off to give me everything I want and everything they didn't have. But the thing is sure, they give me tv with cable, my own laptop. a cell phone, and a computer in my room. But the thing is, now that I am a teenager, I would gladly trade the tv or the laptop or any of those possessions to just have an open and close relationship with them. Over the years I some how drifted away from them. And now sometimes it feels like my parents don't even want to know what's going on in my life. Any way I think a HUGE thing to give a child to make their childhood specail is an open relationship. Being there for them when they need you, teaching them that they can always trust and confide in you.

we did a lot of fun stuff, go on vacations and spend a lot of quality time doing things as a family, they were always very involved in our school and extracurricular activities and they enstilled a lot of good qualities in us. on the downside, we moved around a lot partly bc my parents had a very tumultuous relationship, so that part was pretty miserable at times. but i only really remember the good stuff, i guess thats how memory works.

My mum picked bad men, I was sexually abused by my dad until I was 5, then mentally and physically brutalised by her boyfriend after that. We never stayed in one place for longer than a few years moving from place to place as she followed different men who she moved in with. She had an alcohol and drug problem, we were neglected, we weren't loved, we were belted alot, we were poor. You do the math.

They tried to stop me from going out.
But, hey, I still climbed out of the window every so often.
They did that so I could be more studious and in a way, that did kind of work, compared to a majority of my old friends who have become boozers and losers.

Yes they were great. I come from a large family and we didn't have alot of money but we had alot of love and support. They were always there when we needed them. They taught us all about working for what you want and to be honest and fair. I miss them both but know they are together again.
