Hello irishlas. If you get yourself checked up at doctors, and any problem fixed, your pain will slowly diminish. Don't leave it. I had a severe car crash, and 20 years later I got terrible problems with my neck and back. They finally discovered I had broken a tiny bone in my neck, which caused me to have balance problems.I have had to use a walking stick ever since. So I hope you take good advice.

my husband was in a car accident in 2002, broadsided. he had the green light and the other guy totally blew the red light. My husband can still have pain, however he takes an over the counter joint supplement from Trader Joes called Trader Darwins Joint Support, my husband suffered daily until about 2004 when we found this supplement. It contains Glucosamine, MSM & Chondroitin, not sure what all that is, but it works for him and the Doc said it was ok. you could find similar products from GNC, we just happen to use the Trader Joe's brand. Older folk's use it for help with knee joints and such. Anywhoooo - it's possible you might be plaqued with the pain for the rest of your life. talk to your Dr. Good luck to you, i'm glad it wasn't a more serious accident and you are still able to be with your loved ones.

7 years ago I've been involved in a car wreck and even since suffered with severe on and off facial and jaw pain. I've tried almost everything western medicine had to offer and had visited countless of specialist, had done ct scans, and therapies but to no avail. The doctors I have been to had persisted that there wasn't anything wrong with me and that almost drove me crazy as I was going through hell from this condition. According to all my symptoms I was diagnosed by a holistic doctor as having TMJ and he had recommended this book to me. After following the recommendation in the book for several weeks, it had changed my life. I got immediate relief after following the unique set of exercises in the book and after 2 weeks the jaw and face pain had completely gone. I only wish I would have ordered this program years ago. It would have saved me a lot of pain and anguish.

Many things affect pain. The severity of your injury...do you have disk bulges or is your spine "screwed-up" Your Attorney should have decent Dr's assessing your body and how it was affected. My pain continues to be bothersome from my rear-end accident last March. I'm 36 and I still feel harsh pain daily. My friend who was the driver didn't get hurt as much. He's also heavier and has more muscle mass, especially a thicker neck. We were hit at a standstill by a cabbie who was going between 35-45/hr. I took two months off work, he took 1 month off. Then I took another 2 weeks off in September.

Everyone is different. Best thing to do is Stretch and do your PT, take your meds and wheen yourself off them.

Good luck and get well. God Bless You.

There's no exact number. Most likely a few weeks depending on the severity. It would be prudent to consult a chiropractor, have them take xrays, and go through a few weeks of massage therapy and adjustments and see how you feel.
