I have suffered from daily headaches for years, which could last for most of the day, and was told the only way to get better was to stop taking any painkilling medication, as the medication was causing a rebound headache. Naturally when I stopped, the headaches became much worse, in fact I was climbing the walls for a week of having unbelievable pain in my head. At the end of that week I then went to see someone who practiced Bowen's Technique, which is gentle manipulation of the skin over the muscles and helps to get your own body to reset itself and heal itself.

I had to go for three sessions and I have to say it's worked wonders for me. I feel so much more relaxed, if I do get a headache, they are very mild and tends to go away by itself in about an hour. I feel more energetic too and can concentrate more on different things. It's the best thing I've ever done, having tried other various treatments like osteopathy, chiropracter, acupuncture etc. But firstly, I would try stopping the medication, but if you do need to take something, I found Ibuprofen worked best, not giving a rebound headache which is what you want to stop happening. I sympathise and best of luck.

Im 15 and I get those headaches. Could be from not having caffeine if you usually drink it. If I go a few days without going to starbucks, I get headaches. Staring at the tv too long or the computer screen. It could be almost anything. Take Tylenol and if you are worried go to the doctors.

Stress, some foods, alcohol, genetics, and caffeine can cause blood vessels in the brain to contract and widen in size causing the victim, ie:you, to experience excruciating pain, temporary patches of blindness, and long agonizing headaches. Serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the brain released by nerve cells, control the blood vessels diameter. Taking anti-migraine pills should stop the effects of serotonin leaving you headache free.

Another possibility is that the barometer (this has to do with the weather) and the kind of pressure sits at could have something to do with these headaches. I get barometric pressure headaches on occasion and when they occur they can be quite painful.

Please let your mom know and also your dr so that they can evaluate this situation further to see what they think is going on.

We have treated 15 & 20 yrs Migrains.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk with sugar at bed time preferably or meals, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
Pl search a painful point 3 - 6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it; H/A will disappear within 30 secs.

Pay attention to what you are eating - sounds like you could be getting migraines.
Do they happen around the same time as your period? If so it could be do to your hormones.
Make sure you tell your mom and suggest she take you to a Dr to have it checked out.
Good luck - I know they are no fun- I suffer from migraines and they are worse around the time for my period.
