I might've guessed some wouldn't like this question. I don't see how my religious background would make any difference or how this is blastphemy in any way.

People are taller than they were a long time ago. And we have become more literate, even since the Dark Ages. As we grow and advance, I don't feel it is wrong to consider God might be capable of doing the same.

God said let US create man in OUR image.
God formed man for the dust (flesh) then he breathed life in to him (spirit) and man became a living soul. Man is flesh and spirit and a living soul. God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we are created in this image having more than flesh but also an eternal spirit. Man is imperfect and is being perfected. God is perfect and can not improve. The image of God does not refer to being like god in his perfection but that we also have more than one part and have an eternal spirit.

I think that really depends on your own views of Christianity and the like. If you are a creationalist, you would say that God created everyone in his image and that it was all done at the same time and that nothing ever evolved. Okay, that was a really simplified version. Anyways, if you are an evolutionist, then you would say that everything evolved from a single celled organism and continues to evolve now. On the other hand, if you are a mix (as I am) you could say that God created Adam and Eve to be like him, pure in the Garden of Eden, and that he also was setting up the path way for all other man-kind to be created through evolution. In other words: most people believe one or the other and it really depends on your own perspective. I dont, however, think that God would evolve, because he is already divine and, therefore, not capable of being any more perfect. If that makes sense. Hope I helped!

First it's important to understand that orthodox Christianity does not believe that the human species experienced an evolution process over time. The first human being would not be very different from us now. Yes I know about the fossil theories, but whose to say that these creatures were humans? God could have allowed the evolutionary process to affect many species, but uniquely create humans to be set apart. Maybe the primate fossils were distant relatives, but not the creation that God intended to give an immortal spirit.

Now, the last sentence is really the answer. God is invisible, and the the writers of the Old Testament understood this when the translation "in his image" was done. It then follows that "image" is a metaphor. A person with biblical knowledge then must ask, "What is it that humans have, which is similar to God, but absent from all other creatures?" The answer is that we have an immortal spirit. God is spirit, and the human creation have that unique aspect to their being. Other animals have a spirit, but it dies when their body dies, the human spirit was created to last forever--same as God. So, being made in the image of God is simply saying that we have an immortal spirit, as does God. Therefore, the evolution issue is moot.

Because God instilled in us a need to seek out and learn new things and the deeper meaning of things, yes Man has evolved into a smarter society as a whole, especially since biblical times. But remember one thing, just because man/woman has changed into a more complex and intellegent being, the basic priciples of the Bible still hold true. GOD HAS NOT CHANGED, MAN HAS. But you still pray the same ole way, OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN!

We were created by God and yes, in His and Christ's image. We did not evolve from anything, not certainly from an ape. That is the view of atheists and some theories from unprincipled scientists. God does not evolve, he is a spirit.

This is one of those questions where no matter who tries to answer it. They still won’t have a freakin’ clue what the real answer really is.

Catholics will tell you no, God is this way and that’s the way he remains. This is probably due to their lack of accepting other ‘competitive’ (in their mind) religions and there, ‘ohh so traditional’ and completely unmodernized ideas, thoughts and opinions. I work for Catholics and they still discussed me in their believes (no offence intended)

Christians will tell you yes! ‘Big guns upstairs’ wants us to evolve and will also evolve to meet our needs. He wants us to make the most of our lives and worship within our own means. Christians want to expand the word of the lord through today’s means of whatever communications available artwork: http://www.churchartworks.com/ music: http://www.christianmusictimes.com/ and anything else we can do to show our support (which, by the way, is stellar cool of this religion!!) This is something you will NEVER see the Catholics supporting and maybe that why they are all fossils with hidden suppression and regression of the way the world works today. Blinded to the thoughts outside of what they were taught

I will tell you as a pagan that God/Goddess wants us to be ourselves evolution or not. God wants worship and respect for his earth and wants us to take our own action; God is pushing for us but won’t push us. In a scientifically proven way YES we’ll evolve regardless and there is no stopping that. God wouldn’t create what he didn’t want; yet, knew it would happen, and couldn’t stop it – There is more power up there than leaving a world open for self-conflicted mistake.

I believe in my own little mind God is up there kickin’ back along for the ride and gives as a shove now and then to lead us in the right direction with hopes that we’ll take the lifeline, if that is what we so choose? In my theory God would have supported us weather we evolved one way or the other, but in my opinion he’s not up there shaving, going to college, finding new and improved ways running industries – that’s all us, our will, or want, our power, our doing. He/She is up there as the preset caretaker of us, his earth and all of the other beautiful things in this world worth taking credit for. He has no need to evolve as we’re all under the impression that our God is perfect. Yet it’s questionable as to if he needs to in order for us to do so, in this case the answer would have to be yes? It’s a black or white question :) And a good one!

These are just my opinions and everyone is more that welcome to scrutinize them… But I really do hope this helps!!

Yes, you could say that, he can do anything. But does that really matter in the end. When God returns to retrieve his children, we will all get new bodies anyway. In Revelations 21 God word says 'God Himself will be with them and be their God. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away'.
I am more excited about that!

That would depend on what you consider we evolved from. If we evolved it would have to be the same species. Man evolved from mankind. God doesn't evolve he stays the same. God never changes.

We were made in the spiritual image, not the physical. How could so many different people on this earth all look like the same one person if not in the spirit?
