I think Christians believe in numbers game When they have the numbers they can put that to vote, and win democratically.

I don't know why people use the techniques they do, but, I know they believe they are offering you something good when they tell you about God. The reality is that satan loves that there are so many different religions because it causes division amongst those who believe in God.
Just think how it would be if all 'Christians' agreed that religion didn't matter but that relationship did. Then it wouldn't be necessary to use peer pressure because it would be more appealing to know about God and people would seek out the information.

I am a Christian and I do understand the point you are making. There is a poem and I can/t remember the author but it goes something like this: "I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day/ I'd rather one should walk with me than merely show the way./ For the best of all the "preachers" are the men who LIVE their creed/ For to see the good in action is what everybody needs./ I can soon learn how to do it if you let me see it done for fine consel is confusing and your tonque too quick may run." Living out the precepts of one's faith with a loving tender heart is by far the best way.

I wouldn't equate peer pressure and "witnessing".
If you tell someone how good your school's basketball team played last Saturday, are you employing peer pressure to force them to believe that your team is best? Or are you just acting as an eye-witness to describe the events you saw?
If you are hiring an employee and describe the job to them, are you employing peer pressure to force them to take the job? Or are you just acting as a witness to describe the job and the company?
My experience is that some people over-react when someone talks to them about religion. It's as if they had a bad experience as a child that causes them to reject all religious discussions. It doesn't seem to matter how religion enters into the discussion -- they make it personal and start talking about people "shoving their beliefs down my throat" -- as if that's even possible.
If you don't want to hear about people's religious experiences, be a grown-up and tell them. Don't come whining to us about people forcing you to become a Christian.

Very good point. Personally, I am turned off when someone is pushing me into something and some 'witnessing' comes across that way.
I am a Christian, but tossing scripture around is not my M.O. simply because I would, and did, find it offensive. If the situation presents it's self, I will tell anyone who want to listen just how I found the "truth" (or should I say how the truth found me. But to run around making people listen does not help me or them.
If you would like to hear, email me and ask how I found the truth. I'm not prejudice, I'll tell anyone who asks.

It's working for them, isn't it. Why change a strategy that has been bringing in new "believers" for centuries, if it is still effective. I mean, when it comes right down to it, money is money, whether or not the person who donated to the church was coerced or not. Religion is about big bucks, and don't think the church clergy aren't very aware of that when they are encouraging their congregation to witness. It is very sad that there are so many naive people who continue to fall for it all.

Maybe they have nothing else going for them. One has to use the tools one has, and if one doesn't have reality behind them, then they must use force of arms and physical threats. Oh, but right, people have civil rights now regardless of religion and the government is not keeping score of what religion one is. So that leaves peer pressure.

First of all, not all Christians are like this. In fact, the only ones that do, and i seriously don't claim them as Christians, are the Jehovah Witnesses, and the Mormons. I guess I've never seen it other then in those groups.
And personally, I think it is wrong, and very immature for anyone to push their religion on anyone else. Anyone who tries that with me gets the door slammed in their face and if that doesn't work, then they get ran off of my property.

Why is it when you present an idea it is presenting an idea but when Christians do so they are using peer pressure or shoving it down your throat. Seems kinda like a phony complaint. why do some people think its okay to talk about anything but your faith. Do we not have a right to talk about what is important to us or should we allow others to dictate what we are allowed to say. I don't think they would appreciate us trying to censure what is important tot them. The time is over when Christians have cower to the simplistic definitions imposed on them by those who would never accept such restrictions on their right to free speech. That being said I'm not at all a pushy person.

in simple terms call it bible learn. The Bible is what it particularly is, and learn is what it particularly is. the two human beings are going to respond or they gained't there is not any element in attempting to sell it as something else. yet in my adventure, as quickly as human beings comprehend the quite strategies-blowing issues that are certainly interior the Bible, they are going to get excited and tell others (information flash: it is not basically a gaggle of fairy memories). even though it takes learn first. those people who're calling it the "brainwashing hour" or the "indoctrination hour" do not understand what they're speaking approximately. actual bible learn is exciting and represents actual freedom: you are able to pass away any time you like, yet you do not decide for to with the aid of fact that is incredible. you do not turn your strategies off; you stimulate it. and you're making intense high quality heat friendships.

Their actions should speak for themselves. Their love should shine a light in the darkness that they perceive in order to guide the wayward home.
Unfortunately, so many people are too concerned about who is right and who is wrong to love each other...
And yes, faith and spirituality are only legitimate if one finds them for himself. This means that even the child who was raised to think a certain way can only legitimately hold his beliefs if he analyzes them himself. Of course, this is difficult to do for many people; that is, questioning traditions and upbringing. Hence my hatred for early brainwashing.
