this probably sounds like a bad question, but i just got a new tattoo, and the guy who did it did a shitty job. it's small enough that it shouldn'nt be too hard to get it covered over, but i was wondering, while it's fresh, will picking at the scabs get rid of some of it, or will it just screw it up?

It may fade it a bit, but more importantly it may cause you to have a big nasty scar that will look ugly and be hard to tattoo over uniformly.

Don't pick it. Let it heal as best you can so that your skin is as undamaged as possible.

If you scratch at it, the ink will come out in spots, leaving you worse off than you are now. If you do manage to get all the ink out, you will likely end up with a nasty scar that can't be tattooed over.

Your best bet is to either try a dermatologist right away, and see if they have any suggestions, or let it heal properly, and then see a professional about getting it reworked.

Next time, see a real pro from the start, and you won't have this problem. Make sure you go to a reputable, clean shop, where the artists can show you photos of tattoo's they've done. And if you get bad ink, speak up right away! If it really is as 'shitty' as it must be to consider scratching it off, then I would've said something right there, and certainly wouldn't have paid for it.

First why did you get the tattoo in the first place if you are so wanting to scratch it off .The Best thing to do if you want to remove it that bad is go back to the tattooist and get him to remove it and that would be the best way .

Go to a dermatologist ASAP before it heals. He has the stuff to eliminate it with a minimum of scar left.
