does it have along engine life span?

Hyundai's are very good cars, among the very best available in the USA. Proton isn't sold here, never even heard of the brand until you mentioned it today, so I can't comment on them. I can only tell you to choose what you like and can afford after having done your research.

Hyundai is a good car.Engine is not much of aproblem.Proton is almost equally good.
With the Lotus tuning and design tweaks,its quitecommendable.The Gen2 and Satria have more appealing looks.It's a hard decision..You decide..

They are too small and cheap will not last long as the engine has to work hard a bigger car with a V6 engine would be a lot better I would not mykids drive small unsafe cars
