How can a religion possibly indoctrinate someone to this extent?

Some people are so weak-minded that they can be easily brainwashed. Apparently this lady was one of them.
If I remember correctly, this was from Wifeswap. The crazy lady refused the money because it was "The devil's money" (or something like that) but ended up taking it so she could afford gastric bypass surgery. I guess the devil most have gotten to her after all. ;)

I am unable to go to the link as my computer is so slow it would take forever...however I can imagine what it probably is about so I will answer accordingly.
Religions are made by man...and yes they can and sometimes do indoctrinate people to follow the "religion" rather than to follow God.
My quote for the night:
"Religion without a personal relationship with God has no value."

Every faith has crazy people, but wow, what a nut! I can't believe anyone would rant and rave like that. But then she took the money? I think it was mainly a show for the show. But talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

If it were Id say she doing her best in keeping her kids straight but her behavior
exceeds the norm and her family is not
supportive in the ways she expects.
So her rage just gets worse and worse and
the family is less and less sensitive to her
feelings creating a vicious cycle.
This behavior only opens the door to
demonic attacks within the family, creating
an out of bounds attitude towards her family.

Monotheism is especially prone to indoctrination (and especially Abrahamic monotheism). Someone who is scared can be manipulated, and since you'd need to be manipulated to believe in a god then religions feel thaat they need to indoctrinate.
