What does "Thou shall not kill" mean? Is it just for certain people to kill certain people? Didn't Jesus die on the cross despite God's ability to save him? IS there fine print in the bible that allows the US to kill so many people in Iraq? And isn't the US public part of the guilt in allowing the killings?

It depends on why people are being killed. The commandment against killing when read in the original text actually says...not to "murder" which is interpreted to mean...to kill without justification.

I cannot give you a real answer to your question because I do not know if the reasons we are there are justified or not. I doubt if many people do actually know why we are there...but many do have opinions on it..as do I. Only God himself knows the heart of the people who put us there.

no i do not believe that jesus accepts the war on iraq. jesus gives us free will and the choices we make have consequences . i would imagine that jesus cries everyday in heaven when he sees the acts / killings. unfortunatly, jesus is not running the united states government. george bush was elected and is in charge. yes, he did die on a cross because he was the only perfect sacrifice that would satisfy our debts for sins that we could never be able to pay for. his blood was a sacrifice / paid a debt for the sins of all the world to come. heaven can't be earned / no one could ever do enough to pay for it. jesus paid for it for us. all it takes is to ask jesus to forgive you and give you eternal life. i do not think our government searches the bible to find fine print .

i honestly do not know how the U.S. public could make the president stop the war. the public approval ratings of the president are quite low. many americans do not support this war. too many people are dying . their blood is no different in value than ours. i do not believe that the common public in iraq wants to be at war either. i am glad that they are free and have a democracy now . i think it's time to let them run their own country / affairs right now. many people are praying for this war to be over. i hope it is over soon. join me in praying for an end ???
