I was my face everynight with Dial antibacterial, then i moisterize. I have always had good skin, but I am 24 and now I am thinking about the future of my skin and I am wondering if it is bad to use the antibacterial soap? Most other soaps makes me get a pimple so I resorted to this, which I rarley get and pimples when i use. SO what should I do about my soap issue, should i stop using it and find something more gental or moisturize more heavily as I age??

In my experience antibacterial soaps can dry out your skin. Look and see what Oil of Olay and Neutrogena have out.

I would say that it's fine to keep using it, but try using it less often. Use a gentle cleanser such as something by Neutrogena or other, and use the Dial maybe once a week if you still feel that you need it. Even if you have terribly oily skin, antibacterial soap drys it out (which causes less acne) and causes a buildup of dry skin, which can also cause acne. Pick the lesser evil, I suppose. :-P Also, the antibacterial kills the good bacteria your skin needs as well as the bad germ-causing bacteria.

Everyone's skin is different. Do what works for you. Soaps like that tend to be very drying to the skin, but since you are moisterizing after using it will help keep your skin in good condition. Using sunscreen even if the only sun you get is walking to and from your car will also help keep you looking younger. So will drinking plenty of water. Everyone should be so lucky to find something to keep them from having breakouts. Keep it up and stay beautiful.

it's fine to use antibacterial soap. It's good for any age person. Continue what you have been doing. If you are worried about lines or wrinkles go to a high end store makeup counter and ask for a recommendation. Use sunscreen daily on your face and neck.

I find that the antibac soaps really help with my acne. I use an oil-free moisturizer after with no problems. If it works, then keep with it, if it starts to dry your skin you can always stop. The biggest enemies to your skin are the sun and lack of proper diet/hydration and not so much just a drying soap.

Well, I believe that Dial antibacterial soap is too harsh for your face. It actually may overdry your skin as well. You should use a cleanser made specifically for your face.

Well, if it's working right now and nothing else is, then sure keep using it. But if it ever stops working, then you should switch to a LIGHT moisterizer. A pore minimizer would help too. Go to CVS, they have that kind of stuff.

I don't think it will be bad for you in the long run. I considered washing my face with chlorhexadine, the antibacterial stuff in purell. I think that would probably be bad because of the alcohol.

You can wash your face TWICE daily with antibacterial soap. No worries. :)
