A paint roller is a better, quicker way to apply the paint. You will need a roller and a paint tray. You will need some kind of drop cloth and if the paint is not water based, you will need mineral spirits to clean the brushes and roller.

Be sure to use painter's tape, NOT masking tape. Painter's tape was developed to release from the wall (etc.) instead of pull the paint off with it like masking tape does.
I would also work in clothing you don't mind getting paint on, because it WILL happen. Use a paper painter's hat or a shower cap to keep paint out of your hair. It's hard to get out.

plastic drop cloth to protect floor/ furniture. masking tape to mark off windows and edges you don't want painted, i would go with a roller instead of brushes....goes much faster and smoother, in which case you will need a roller an extender handle and a paint pan. go to your local lowe's or home depot or simialer store and they should be able to help you

Lots of old sheets to protect your furniture and flooring from the paint.

tape to put around doorways, ceilings so you don't get paint on them. Plastic covering is a must over objects and on your floors. that should be about it!
