I heard that if you do not let your dog have at least 1 littler of puppies(and get them fixed) they will become very large for a short period of time, and have the chance of becoming crazy as they age? Is that true?

Anthoner question is when a dog is in heat, is there private supposed to be very big like the size of a golf ball, and can that get infected while on walks. In the house she has diapers on but when we take her out it comes off, is that good????
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

No, that is just an old wives tale. Spay her and don't deal with having a litter. It is alot of work and responsibility. Not only must you care for her and be there when she delivers, but then you may have to bottle feed puppies every 2-3 hrs. Then you must find homes for all of them.

Yes it is normal for her private parts to swell and stay swollen for a couple of weeks. None of my females have ever gotten any type of infection while in heat. You need to be extremely careful taking her outside!!!!! A male dog could become aggressive and mate with her very quickly! Take her out only to potty, then immediately back inside. This heat cycle lasts approx 3 weeks. One week coming in, one week in (this is when she can get pregnant) and a week going out. But remember....... this in not an exact science, these times may vary......

its actually healthier for a dog to be spayed before her first heat cycle. There is NO reason for a dog to have a litter of pups.

Yes her privates do swell during the heat cycle. Infections are always a possability with an unspayed *****, heat or no heat.

Sure you can take the diapers off during a walk, but if there are any unleashed males about, they will try to mount her.. they dont care if you are next to her with a leash!

Nope that is entirely false.. I have never even heard that one.. Anytime someone tells you that your dog has a chance of becoming crazy, or turning on you for no reason, brain growing too big for the head, or any of those ridiculous ideas, they are pulling your leg..

Their privates do swell.. They aren't going to develop an infection just by going on a walk..

The myth of letting your dog have one litter is ridiculous.
You need to get her fixed and do it soon- before she gets pregnant and you have a litter of puppies that you ca't find homes for!!!!
I have had dogs for over 30 years and they DO NOT GO CRAZY AS THEY AGE!!!!!
The answer to your other question is her private is supposed to swell up.
Do her and yourself a big favor and get her fixed NOW!!!!!

You can get her Spayed . And yes she will swell ,1 wk. coming in , one week in & 1 wk. going out . If bred she will stay swollen. If you don't want puppies and you see her bred . you have only a short time to take to vet for a shot to abort .Like 2 or 3 days I believe . Can't remember .

It's not true, please spay before the first heat.

"In dogs, mammary tumors are the second most common tumor (after skin tumors) over all and the most common tumor in female dogs. The lifetime risk of intact (not spayed) female dogs to develop mammary tumors has been estimated to be about 25 percent, with a much lower risk (about 1 percent) in male dogs and a risk in cats about half that of dogs."

and

"Female dogs who are not spayed or who are spayed later than the first heat cycle are more likely to develop mammary tumors. Specifically, dogs spayed before their first heat have 0.5 percent the risk of intact female dogs, and dogs spayed after just one heat cycle have 8 percent the risk."

there's a lot of learn how to assert that spaying has wellness advantages if accomplished early. there is not any learn how to assert that a clutter has any wellness advantages. As somebody who breeds canines i will show you how to already know that a clutter is particularly stressful on a *****, and expensive and hard artwork for you too in case you do it spectacular. could be coronary heart breaking too if issues pass incorrect. unhappy to assert yet any vet that encourages breeding is properly thinking of all the funds you will could spend with them. carry on with your unique thought - in case you probably did no longer decide for to reproduce, do no longer do it.
