It's a joke. How could Tasmanians possibly have two heads?
We, Australians, tell that sort of thing to gullible Americans.
It's the same as some Americans really believe that we all have kangaroos as pets and ride them like horses. That is also a joke.

No Tasmanians don't have two heads but they are slightly different to those on the mainland. It is a simpler life in Tassie so they do get picked on a lot but then again they hate the mainland as well. A lot of the restaurants, pubs and clubs close ridiculously early and we were told once by some locals of Straun to get out of their country. When I pointed out that I was born in Australia they said Tasmania was a country and if it wasn't it should be. Weirdo! But not all of them are like that.

Just like everywhere else, there is competition between States. Tasmania is the Island State, and is often lampooned by the "mainlanders" for that reason only. . . .and no, Tasmanians don't have two heads (not each, anyway).

This is just kind of a pointless questions
Do you mean tasmanian devils or people?
If you mean the people. You are the type of Americans that beleive we have sharks in our swimming pools and koalas in every tree and as the other lady up there said we ride kangaroos.
Im sure this must have been just a joke to agravate people. But if it isnt there is your answer.

tsk tsk - not nice - another urban legend that's not true.
tasmania has had a big influx of migrants from the little island to the north in the last few years & it's pretty normal - same conservation minded people wanting to keep it green and same pollies/gunns wanting to bring "progress"

Of course!! that way, they can see where they're going in their own state, and also keep an eye on the mainland.
Just joking.... I'm an Aussie, and Tasmania is probably our most beautiful state........
