..I would say Possibly "YES" as several groups have come up and they are all involved in Point Gaming and cheating is going on. As a general rule the person who knows the answer of a question is not supposed to put the question on R & S. But all the askers are aware of the question and Best answers are selection in thier circle only to gain points. Real and best answers do not get appreciation. By this the very purpose of participating YA is getting defeated. Even YA have no machinery to check this menace.
In this circumstance, a break will definetly give better growth in your thinking. The gap at one time or other will come either by your voulundarity resiginging or by removal of the account by YA for no reason. Above all you do not get additction on YA without any return and wasting your valuable time. Please give brake and try a break of 30 days.

i recently took a break for about a week. wasn't sure if i was coming back. i did come back, but only to help my fellow non christians defend reality against the fundies.
since coming back, many of my answers are not as kind as they were when i started answering here. i guess they've hardened me a bit. ironic, isn't it, that try so hard to convert people that most get so angry at them they would never convert!
does it lead to spiritual growth? i don't think so, but it is good to take a break.
i like you, i like you questions and answers, and i hope if you leave that you'll come back : )

I was in India for a month and didn't visit at all. Didn't miss it either. There were other things to do. But when I'm back home, I find that YA is a valuable tool of spiritual growth. Just to be able to see what other people think. To see what pisses me off. To see my own reactions. It's a mirror!

Depends what you have moved into mind (from Yahoo Q&A) so that you may think about it and connect or process it into the other important thoughts you hold in mind. I can tell you that a break defiantly can grow your awareness and wisdom, which is a most spiritual experience.

Yes, I think taking a break from spending a lot of time on R&S in particular is a good idea. For believers, the constant badgering from non believers is very difficult to deal with at times and the negativity can create an exhaustion in us. I am not talking about causing us to doubt our beliefs....but just plain exhaustion and discouragement that we are not able to help them to understand better. Taking a break helps to re-gird your loins for another day of battle. For me, usually a day or two is sufficient. Spend some additional time with the Lord...and take comfort from his presence and take his words to your heart. God Bless.

I took a break for three months. I think that helped me grow spiritually to a degree, but I guess it's up to you to figure out what works best.

I think my addiction to yahoo is taking away me from my karma(daily karma like work, learning etc) and the religious practices I used to perform daily besides I have heard abuses from people first time in life for absolutely no reason except good intention yet I am still on yahoo to hear more. Thus I m giving up my self respect,my karma, my religious and spiritual activities o be here. As the person above says this is nothing but insanity.I am destroying my life

It definitely can. I find that it can be very frustrating coming on here and listening to some of these people talk about what they believe and trying to prove it without and real solid proof, but it still can create doubts that you listen to. Taking some time away can help you eliminate those evil thoughts that can plague your mind and really help you get back on the right path.

Yes, it would be healthy. Too much of anything isn't good. You can sense some of these hardcore regulars are already losing it. The way they start fights with other sections because fighting in this section isn't enough anymore. They gotta pump up the volume to make it more interesting.

That's like asking if a break from the desert leads to water. :)
I recommend a break of a week. Then, come back and enlighten us. When you login it's like a heat exchange system, but for knowledge -- we get smarter, but it's bad for YOUR brain.
