The only fear, is fear itself. You know what they say, the only way to get over something is by doing it. Don't take drugs to calm you down. Just say to yourself, if I want to get over my fear of heights, I gotta get on this roller coaster. Maybe take baby steps. Try building your way up from lower rides to higher ones. Instead of first going on that 100ft roller coaster, go on the smaller ones. You never know, maybe afterwards you'll love heights! It's all in your head.

Fear of heights is normal--its crazy not to be afraid of heights--that's what makes some rides so exciting. You can only overcome the fear by taking the ride and discovering that its not that bad. If you don't want to take the ride, you would be better off skipping it instead of taking a percocet. Percocets just make you feel tired and worn out, so it would probably take most of the fun out of the day.

Roller coasters scare the crap out me, but I ride them anyhow because the adrenalin rush from doing something scary is better than any drug. Just go for it - start with a smaller ride and work your way up.

Everyone gets the same feeling before getting on amusement rides. I been on so 50 roller coasters and i still get the nervous feelin. Most people feel this way because they are afraid of going on a mechanical ride that goes fast, are tall, loud, and they have no control over it. But ur chances of getting injured on a ride are extremely slim. PLUS, THINK OF ALL THE MONEY YOU'LL SUE FOR IF U FELL OF A RIDE. Just hit the rides and face ur fears.

I used to ride in the front car of the Scream Machine at Six Flags & hang over the front so I felt like I was flying. BUT, put me on a 2 story roof & I'll Freak Out! I hate heights too but there's something about being restrained that makes me feel safe. Might sound old-hat, but remember, U can always close your eyes. Go for it, enjoy the Rush, you'll talk about it for years! Go have a good time!

I would suggest that you not take the ride itself. Just avoid it. I am extremely afraid of rides. Somehow I do not enjoy anything that does not feel safe. I cannot handle it well.

Each one of us have different personalities and different tastes, likes and dislikes. May be your body does not like heights and perceives it as a threat. Why should you unnecessarily push it?

I am not a big fan of heights either, I don't mind them as much if I am enclosed, like a elevator, but put me on a ferris wheel, or a ski lift, and watch out, I have a death grip. I have to kids, and don't want them to develop fears because I don't like something, I want them to try it out for themself. So, I do my best to hide it, and just take slow deep breaths.
I hope this is something that might be able to help you out.

I'm affraid of heights and theres not much that cures it---if you find a cure then let me know. I have to psych myself into doing stuff like that. You could meditate or something. or not go on the ride. your friends might make fun of you though. good luck

Try hypnotism Don't know if it works but its not putting foreign substances in your body. Or do like all those psycologists say and "Face your Fears" maybe you'll get over it that way
