A friend of mine from University was a Christian, who was studying for a degree in Physics. His belief was that the bible, and the teachings therein, where a way for God to explain things to the people of that time. For example, due to the lack of the scientific understanding we have today, nobody would have been able to comprehend a description of the creation of Earth and the rest of the Universe, so it was put into simple terms - i.e. it took seven days to build the Earth, the first day was water and fire etc, the second day was whatever that was, and right at the end on the sixth day man was created. Everybody would have gone fruitloops if He had tried to explain evolution, so it was laid out like that. The seventh day represents the present day, when god was to be worshiped, and this was marked by the seventh day being the Sabbath.
I don't have faith myself, but I always thought it was a really interesting idea.

Science will always be a roomate to religion, but it's more like a bickering married couple, always arguing.
Whoever made the flood also made water's menisucs. Whoever made water into wine also made the chemical properties and the process of addition/subtraction at a molecular level that allowed for such a change to occur.
Science tells us how, religion tells us why.

Sure, my 7th grade teacher believes Religion answers the question WHY, as in why was the earth created. Science answers the question HOW, as in how was the earth created. All religions can live happy with science if you think this way.

Science and religion roomates? Sure
Science is like that practical hard studying business major we all knew. He got good grades and graduated near the top of his class. He feels sad for his former roomate(see below.)
Religion is more like that goofball that was always high and didn't study. His grades weren't so good and then he had to drop out. He likes to blame his professors, former roomate, and anyone else for his troubles.

Science and Wicca are very close knit friends, as magick is often viewed as a science not yet completely understood (or accepted)
