I just learned that the bible was outlawed some time ago in Germany claiming it is homophobic and violent.
Is this true?

Scottie T, that is absolutely bazaar.
Did you know that the Nazi's were very weird when it came to sex?
They were never to walk in on anyone while engaged in sexual activity so sometimes when they were searching for Jews the people hiding them would claim that family members were having sex in the room that the Nazi's wanted to search and the Nazi's would never enter the room after they had been told about that.
The more I learn about the Nazi regime the stranger it gets.
Did you know Hitler also had 'breeding' camps?
He did.
He wanted enough Germans to populate the entire world after he conquered it so he had camps where German men were encouraged to go and impregnate German women and make as many babies as possible.
After the war there were many, many fatherless and motherless German babies who were a result of those breeding camps that Germany had to accomidate.

Recently: no!
Because of its contents: no!
However, in the past, just as "Jack" has stated TRANSLATIONS of the bible had been outlawed in several European countries. Only the "original" Latin version was legal. Just google it and you'll see.

I have never heard of that and couldn't find any information on that on the internet.
I'm pretty sure your story of Nazis not being allowed to walk in when someone was having sex is not true either. At least, I never heard of that (I'm a history student).
Officially, religion was tolerated in Nazi germany. On june 28, 1937, leader of SS Himmler ordered that all insults against Jesus were forbidden.(Berlin Document Center, Collection Schumacher, doc. no. 245).
Breeding camps is probably not the right word for the Lebensborn houses. They were elite orphanage homes for children of SS members and mostly norwegian and swedish women.

Don't be silly. The churches in Germany are supported by the state, which taxes every person to pay for the buildings and the pastors. They don't even have to tithe. The German Bible, translated by Martin Luther, is one of the most revered books among the German people, although it is considered by most to be a historical document, not the "word of God."

No, it's probably some stuff on the Internet someone made up to ruffle some feathers. I don't think Germany would ban the Bible; heck, if they did, then they'd have to shut down all those historical cathedrals they have in their country.
Plus, that would draw the ire of most Western nations, including the USA. They have freedom of speech just like we do.

No, but it sounds like a good idea. If they had, we'd still be hearing the cries of persecution and how it's the Christians 'right' to persecute homosexuals.
