I'm asking a question but also giving my opinion. I'm not singling out any country's people who are in the USA il-legally. I've heard the same stupid excuse in government, on the news, that employers commonly hire il-legals to work, because they do jobs that most Americans won't. That is a lie from the beginning! I'll plant trees, dig ditches, wash dishes, bus tables, work in a factory, be a janitor, do anything. The problem is what il-legals get paid (often under the table) is WORTH more to them. For a USA citizen to take the same pay, we usually pay around 35 to 45% in deductions to federal, state, local, medicare, social. The il-legaly hired don't pay this. This in turn, causes USA citizen's cost of living to become un-affordible. I also read yesteday in fact, that the average America work makes an average $43,000 per year. Give me a break. When I made $8 an hour in a year it was barly $10,000. So, to equal $43K per year means the average worker makes like $28 per hour? Stats lie!

I did not say any specific country. Employers and the government knowingly are aware of the employees being illigal. In the Chicago area, this year, a raid took place. They arrested at least 37 people for making identical driver's liscenses, fake id's fake social security cards. Yet, the people in the neighborhood said why are they being picked on and that they aren't breaking the laws. Yes, but why can they make minimum wage, have 2007 vehicles, own a house, and yet still have a link card and free medical card? Because our USA government knows this goes on, many employers at getting richer, while the normal USA citizen worker can't afford a new care, can't afford health care, can't get paid what WE are worth just because since we pay so much to support these illegals, we will live or die in poverty. The Illegals will live in properity, have good health care, never be hungry, and call USA citizens racist about this entire issue. Illiegals are racist. They are anti USA!

What most ignorant people here are not aware to is that the whole number of Illegals are for ALL NATIONALTIES (Chinese, Armenian, CUban, whatever.) Not just Mexican.
That and the misconception that one dollar can get you a week's worth of groceries in Mexico. That's complete bulls*it. Things cost roughly the same in both countries, taking into consideration the exchange rate.

Ditch diggers and dish washers generally get paid minimum wage (or less, if it's under the table), $5.15/hr. That's about $10k/yr before taxes. The single person poverty level in this country is about $10k. So doing those jobs, regardless of how much you pay in taxes, means living in poverty.

The median *household* income was $43k in 2003, the last census. A household often includes 2 working adults, so the average wage is not $21/hr ($43k/yr). Considering that the median home cost in this country is about $200k, $43k/yr is not a lot of money for a family.

So, the bottom line is that you have to make well more than 50% more than minimum wage (ditch digging, dish washing) to live at even a modest standard of living.

Many argue that if there weren't so many illegals working so many minimum wage jobs, employers would be forced to pay more (labor supply and demand). This is certainly true, but if the average wage went up the cost of everything you buy would also go up, so it's not clear how much more actual buying power the lowest paid workers would have.

No matter how you cut it, being at the bottom means you're, well, on the bottom. The only reliable way off the bottom is education. Go to college, send your kids to college, support your local schools.

Yes, in a way you can say stats lie. It is rather a case that you can get stats to say nearly anything you want them to say but still be truthful. For every 100,000 people out there making minimum wage there is some dot com, real easte, or investor billionaire making billions, so when you factor it all in it skews the results.

Why do people keep spreading the lie about it's "12 million" illegals? That was the estimate in 2005!

I am pissed about the fact that there are 20+ million illegal alien criminals here breaking our laws! The Washington weasels don't care what Americans want. Jorge Bush is a Mexican butt kisser.

Why can't our elected officials listen to the fact that about 80% of Americans don't want amnesty!

Don't start generalizing all illegals, because i know some that do pay taxes and are trying to get their papers but the fuc**** government won't let them. So if you want to blame it on other people, first try to be a hard worker living in fear because of not knowing when the hell the cops are going to be bastards and treat you like sh*t.

Look we all know Illegal immigration is a problem. The debate is how to fix it, now I for one can't see the federal government which did a horrid job fixing Katrina being able to deport 12 million people. And your thesis of doing the jobs Americans won't is vary unscientific seeing as your the only sample. as much as you hate stats they prove there would be a serous labor shortage in this country would it not be for immigration, so your rant is just long winded and uneducated.

I understand your question as why call it 12,000,000? BUT your back-up seems concern why tolerate any of them. I agree with your back-up statements that illegals are all negative and big business gets a free tax ride. I suggest we cheat as much as possible to avoid paying our taxes. As to the 12,000,000 - that is a low figure as there is much more vermin bleeding our system. Just remember anything that Teddy boy promotes is strictly to cover the guilt he has for getting away with murder.

Anyone can twist statistics....The same could be said about how these people drain social services and welfare....So if your upset about illegals getting paid under the table, why NOT fault these employers? They are held to a higher standard, its a greater crime to not report withholding taxes from an employer than for an illegal not to report wages....BTW, some do pay taxes with an ITIN tax number....And they never get this money back...

They lie about everything anymore. Also never mention the 10's of billions of our dollars -completely untaxed - that flow into Mexico each year from them sending it back.
Another huge drain on our resources -esp. when one adds in all the health/social services we pay for for the illegals who receive it often using forged I.D..
