For those of you who know nothing about our doctrine, the bible, or who don't even own one for that matter, you need to keep those ignorant thoughts to yourself. SDA a is a christian denomination, not a cult. Our whole doctrine is supported by the bible. Ellen G. White was a spritual leader looking for a path to righteousness. Some of her teachings may have been false but she was looking for the truth, and found it in the end of her spritual journey! The command to worship on the 7th day sabbath came straight from the mouth of God and is not considered a mosaic law (a law made by moses or isreal). In fact the ten commandments begin with "AND GOD SPAKE ALL THESE WORDS SAYING..." Exodus 20":1.It is found specifically in God's 10 commandments. If you destroy one of God's laws you destroy all.
If anyone can show me a passage in the bible where Jesus or his disciples declare that we should nolonger worship on the day God commanded in his ten commandments I will gladly change my beliefs! But I have evidents in the new testament where Jesus deciples worship on the sabbath..."But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Prisidia, AND WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE ON THE SABBATH DAY AND SAT DOWN" Acts 13:14. Here , Paul a disciple of Christ often fellowshiped with the many churches he helped build, and on this day they are worshiping together. Gods grace does not mean that we no longer have follow his ten commandments, it is the mosaic laws that no longer are required to be physically observe because they were a shadow of things to come. For example offering a lamb as sacrifice for sin no longer needs to be observed because Christ paid the ultimate price for our sins. Every single ritual or festival of the mosaic law foreshadowed and still forshadows things of the spritual realm in God's Kingdom. So in a way they are all still being applied but in a different way;they're fulfilled. Before you speak make sure you can back up your words with evidence! demophoon7575, I hope I answered your question, but If things are still a little unclear you can find facts about us in your bible and our website www.itiswritten.org ; we offer free studyguides and everything we teach has a bible reference offered along with it. Don't be led by the ignorant! Just because the majority of apopulation is doing something dosn't make it rigth or fact. The path to eternal life is extremely narrow!

They are a legalistic sect of Christianity that has in effect fallen from grace and back under the law mainly as a result of following the teachings of the false prophetess Ellen White.

Seventh-day Adventists are Christians not a cult or sect as some mis-inform bible teachers advocate. Adventists believe in the Bible very strongly. They believe in Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. They also believe and teach the importance of God's ten commandments as most Christians teach and believe as God's holy standard to be upheld in daily living. Adventists worship on Saturday because it is the Sabbath day according to scripture. The sabbath is the seventh-day of the week. God stated in the Ten Commandments: "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" Exodus 20:8-11. Adventists also believe in baptism by immersion as practice by most christian churches baptizing in the name of the Father, Son(Jesus) and Holy Spirit. Adventists also believe in the Second coming of Christ, not a secret rapture as some teach. They believe in communion(Lord's supper). The denomination is a world wide church with over 15 million church members. Adventists are known throughout the world to have some of the best health care facilities in the world. They also are quick to respond to national disasters worldwide, Floods, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, War, famine and Earthquakes. Adventist christians are on the cutting edge. They also have some of the best colleges and universities the nation offers. Accredited and state of the art facilities dealing with liberal arts. Religion, Science, Mathmatics,Business, Law, Health care etc. Adventists are highly respected today as they are a part of every fabric of life. Learn more about the Seventh-day Adventists on their web-site. They also have several television and radio programming that cover a variety of life issues. Not a cult but dedicated Christians preaching, and teaching the gospel of Christ and helping those around them.

Visit the local seventh-day adventist church in your community and you will discover a special group of caring people who will pray for you and also help you to grow in Christ. Thanks for asking this question.

I know about S.D.A's. Their biggest secret is they don't want you to really know what they believe!!!!

The first three answers are correct. The last three answers are from people who are deceived.

SDA's follow teachings which they refer to as the lesser light. The only way to see "light" in these teachings is if you live in a cave!!!!!

They call salvation by grace "cheap grace".

They believe in two tests for salvation.
Test question number 1: Do you believe in Christ?
Test question number 2: Do you keep Saturday as the Sabbath?

If you miss test question number 2 then it doesn't matter what your answer to question 1 was. You go to hell!!!!

Adventist are THE remnant church of God. Unlike Christians, who are sealed by the Holy Spirit, Adventist will be sealed by keeping the Sabbath.

Only Sabbath keepers will go to heaven!

Yes its a member of a false cult founded by Ellen G. White.

They teach one is saved by believing in Jesus but to stay saved you have to follow the laws of Moses and the most important law is to keep the Saturday Sabbath.

The book of Galatians was written to people with similar beliefs.

Paul told them they had lost their salvation which is why I call the SDAs a false cult.

The SDAs have lots more beliefs which disagree with the rest of the Bible believing churches.

A christian sect, possibly cult, though I don't know enough to be sure, that believes most christian doctrines but insists on useing Saturday as the sabbath, as it was originally, rather than sunday as mainstream christians do.

I'm not real familiar with the religion but they believe that the Sabbath is on Saturday rather than Sunday. They won't work on Saturdays but will work Sundays.
