Anyone watch his show on TV? I think he's pretty good. I'm watching him on ABC Family right now.

God uses Joel to bring in people who would not ordinarily come to Him. God uses different preachers to preach in different ways because we are all have different personalities and not everyone is receptive to the same kind of sermon. Joel's sermons are always positive and uplifting. He paints a picture of the Lord of a wonderful loving Father watching over His beloved children. I think that we are so beaten down with life sometimes that we need to be reminded of God the loving Father. Yes, God is a God of judgment too, but there are no shortages of preachers willing to focus on this fact. People just need to keep in mind that although our Father in heaven loves us, He is a God of justice also and there will be a day where all will stand before the throne to give an account......no exemptions!

My husband was going through a major depression and it was Joel whom I believe God used to give him the hope to pull through! He called me from the hospital and said not to worry he was just listening to Joel Osteen on TV and it was as if someone had lifted 5000 pounds off his shoulders! I do think the Lord uses Joel and I really believe this man is sincere and loves the Lord. I love to listen to him because he does not beat you over the head with religion, he just lifts one up. The Bible says that God is near the brokenhearted. God sends messengers like Joel for a reason. May the Lord continue to bless Joel!

He's even better in person. We went and my daughter wanted to 'talk to Pastor Joel' (she's three) so we went after the service and stood in the line for people who want to talk to him and he talked to her as if she were the only one standing there. It was the nicest thing. He could have just ignored her and walked on to the next but he didn't. And he doesn't take a salary from the church and I heard that the only reason he charges when he is on the road is because the venues that he speaks at require it. I have heard all to often that he just preaches milk or water down scripture but that is just the main service...there are SO MANY other teachings and classes that there is something for everyone, in any area, and every level of 'knowledge'. Oh and if you don't get to view the songs before the message....MAN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING!!!!!!

I think he is a lot like Norman Vincent Peale. He teachings are more of a motivational method to achieve great things in your life. I read his book. He has the most at peace look on his face of anyone I have ever seen. I agree with the statement that read about him using more scripture.

Joel Osteen nevers yells or screams.

Joel Osteen is THA BOMB! He is an exceptional speaker. I see him as a biblical motivational speaker. Everything he says makes perfect sense and is backed by the Bible. He speaks of only positive things that will improve your life. Do read his book "Your Best Life Now...Seven Steps to Getting The Life You Deserve" (or something to that effect on the steps...) I read it in '05. I was greatly effected by this book in a positive way. Mr. Osteen defintiely was put on this earth to improve mankind!

Yes, I also like Joel. He focuses more on the positive impact God/Jesus has on people rather than on the concept of doctrines. I find his sermons uplifting and often hitting the nail right on the head. He has brought back the idea that Christians, those that have a truly personal relationship with God/Christ can rely on God to walk with them and assist them everyday. It is the same standard that I live by....and I have found that it is more wonderful than I could have ever imagined.

Really a good guy. Doesn't dig into the spiritual "dirt" of Christianity enough though. He likes to float on the top of issues, and talk about the "fluffy" stuff too much. He's got some really good stories to tell though!

A little too watered down , almost dangerously .
Preaches too much peaches and cream and not about the judging God , who He also is !!!
