Hi, I'm getting married late September, and a friend of ours has announced that they would like to get married in early September now, a few of the idea's we had for our wedding, they have decided to go with also, and there will be some of the same people at both of our weddings, ANYWAY!! I am looking for some different and unique idea's for our fall themed wedding, we were going to do a slideshow at our wedding, of us as babies, growing up.. and to now, but now that they are doing it too, I just want to be different.. I don't want guests to be bored with two weddings that are similar.. I want some creative, and unique idea's. the theme is fall.. there will be lanterns and leaves on the tables, and the colors are burnt orange and espresso. Any idea's would be great! Thank you :)

First of all, congrats! ^_^
If you are still planning to do a slideshow, I have a few ideas to make it look unique, in terms of special effects and perhaps different song selections that you may really like.
My friend has done several different wedding slideshows for family and close friends, including mine. To make it unique he added in video loops. Everyone loved and raved how nice it looked! He likes going to http://www.instantimagers.com. They have many loops selections, and ones specially for weddings. It definitely makes the slideshow pop and look really beautiful and romantic.
In terms of songs, if you haven't any song selections for your slideshow and want something atypical from the popular 'romantic' songs that everyone else seem to have chosen, perhaps you'll like "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole for your baby, growing-up pics.
http://www.www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A2Jt4WOxN8
and "At The Beginning" – Richard Marx & Donna Lewis for the couples pics or "When You Say Nothing At all" - Ronan Keating. Hope you'll like the songs.

Good luck!

1. A pumpkin flavored wedding cake with a basket weave frosting topped with fall flowers, chocolate leaves and cinnammon "spikes".
2. Antique lanterns on tables surrounded by baby grapes and grape leaves.
3. Put insant cameras on every table and a basket to throw them in on the way out the door so you can see candid shots your guests took.
4. On the way in have a butler give each guest a glass of champagne with a couple blueberries dropped in it.
5. If there are pillars or posts in the reception room, find some cream colored tulle and spiral it around the pillars with grape vine, grape leaves and ribbon
6. sprays of wheat or something similar would be a nice addition to flower arrangements
7. Good favor ideas would be votive candles with stripes of twigs glued to the sides or mini dried hydrangea topiary trees, or a very good jar of jam with your names on it and a silk fall leaf tied to it
8. Use cloth napkins with cinnammon stick napkin rings
9. If possible use clear glass plates with gold or silver chargers underneath....put a silk fall leaf between the charger and the plate.
10. Make ice bowls with fall fruits like grapes, cranberries and blueberries in them (the internet can show you how to make an ice bowl...they are easy.
11. Have a cinnammon chocolate fountain with skewered grapes
12. Drape the ceiling lights with grape vine
13. Floating candles everywhere
14. Pine cones can be used here and there.
Have a lovely wedding and marriage!

This is simple, I hope these ideas help! I got married in October and still hear people raving and going on about how awesome it was and unique! It was even featured in several magazines and publications!
I will list some of the things we did! If you have any questions or how to questions, email me! I can send some pics, etc!
-Have a Natural Burlap Aisle Runner, rather than how everyone else does the traditional white/cream-this can be edged with a satin ribbon in the color of your choice to match, or left simple and unfinished for a rustic fall look!
-Use pumpkins and gords, hay bales, & mums as decorations, instead of traditional flower arrangements. Wrap the flower pots (of mums) with burlap and tie with a satin ribbon alternating your colors! These things SCREAM fall and can be done very classy, if put together properly!
-MUMS! Use these for your flowers, have them scattered all over, use other flowers for your bouquets and boutineres, but mums scattered around for your decorations! These SCREAM fall!
-Have you flower girls toss fall colored leaves instead of rose petals!
-Candles, lots of them! Another very fallish idea is to use mason jars, fill them 2 inches with sand, then place a votive inside and light! These can be placed on tables, etc. Or even hung from the ceiling/rafters, etc. Attach floral wire around the rims and loop over rafters, or hook on nails! Looks great and so untraditional, I guarantee she won't be doing this one! But you'll get TONS of compliments!
-I had table runners made out of a fall plaid. It was duipioni silk and had Burnt orange, espresso, lime gren, dark green, gold, tan, etc. Which was all of my colors!
This material was also used to make little bags with our monogram on the front, that was used in place of baskets and carried by the flower girls. The bags were embellished with a trim matching the tannish gold color!
The material was further used on my cake. I had it made into a "ribbon" and this was what went around the bottoms of each layer of cake!
I'm trying to remember some of my other "touches" that made my wedding DIFFERENT from anyone else's. I'll fill you in if I think of anything else! As I said email me and I can send you a link to some pics!
Good luck, Congrats, and by all means DO NOT share any of your new ideas with your friend!

I think a fall wedding will be beautiful. I think you should use mums as decorations they are beautiful in fall colors and cheap that time of year. Try doing a slide show at the reception. Pick songs that are special to you to play during the slide show. Also don't be afraid to bring out pops of cinnamon and gold. Incorporate all of the fall colors.

instead of the slideshow, get a digital picture frame and download pics of the two of you. Use deep wine and orange and chocolate colors and maybe add punches of "green apple" to the theme. Incorporate red grapes in your table arrangements for added color. Use low lighting and lots of candles. Maybe use vases with coffee beans in the bottom and then add flowers to them. Good luck!

Well, having a slide show isn't exactly unique. So if you wanted one, go ahead. Many people do, so it's not like they stole your idea.
There's really nothing new under the sun. So plan to do the things you like and want to do. The thing that makes your wedding unique is you!

Have autumn songs at your marriage ceremony and have a few bags of leaves instead of popcorn to throw. This would have to be done from height above though.
