I'm twenty, and suffered from acne until quite recently. I've tried many products, but nothing consistently worked. Then a couple months ago I tried a new system from Kohl's department stores. It's called the Good Start kit, from their Good Skin line in the beauty department. It's $20 for a kit that will last you about three weeks. The system completely eliminated my moderate to cystic acne.
The full size products may seem expensive, but they last a long time. I use the All Right Medicated Cleanser two to three times a day, the All Right Oil-Free Lotion every night, and the All Right Purifying Toner once a week (toners aren't necessary if you don't need to remove make-up). These products are turquoise and white. They cost $12, $17.50, and $12 respectively. The All Right Spot Treatment is $8.50 and very effective -- though if you use the whole system, you probably won't even need it.
It's extremely important to exfoliate twice a week with this system. It might slightly dry your skin out, so you need to get rid of the dead skin cells that will clog your pores and make you break out. I use the Good Skin Microcrystal Skin Refinisher once or twice a week. It removes any flakes of dry skin I have on my face. Be very gentle with this product -- when rubbing circles on your face, don't grind it in. You could create small scratches that could get infected with bacteria. I know this sounds scary, but if you use it properly with lots of water, it works like a dream.
The sales assistant in the beauty department should give you samples of the Microcrystal Skin Refinisher that would last a few months. Don't be afraid to ask for them -- they always have them available, and they know that $25 dollars is expensive to buy a scrub that you don't know if you even like. Kohl's often has sales on their different beauty lines -- anything from 10 to 20% off. That's when I buy the full-sized products.
Kohl's has a good return policy. You can return beauty merchandise within ninety days if you have a bad reaction. Just buy the kit at first, in case the Good Skin system doesn't work for you. Then you're only out $20.
Kohl's has a website that includes all their cosmetic and skincare products. It's www.kohls.com. As well as looking up products, you can actually buy them from that site.
A good site for looking up reviews of cosmetic/skincare products is www.makeupalley.com. Basically, people review products they've tried and disliked/liked. You have to create an account with Makeupalley, but they will never sell your information to third parties and send you advertisements.
Make sure to use a sunscreen on your face if you are out in the sun. This will prevent acne scars from forming/getting worse. Unfortunately, Kohl's sunscreens are greasy (I stay far away).
The Good Skin All Right line is the only thing that has ever completely cleared my skin. Natural products used to work, but eventually they just didn't keep up. Just give it a try

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

Personally I think that Proactiv is a waste. Well it works if you seiously have acne, but if you are just keeping your face clear just use face washes like clean&clear and Noxema and stuff like that

trust me it does work, ive been using it for 1-2 months now ! Its helped alot, i used to have alota acne on my cheeks an bumps on my forehead, i still have acne but not ALOT and it works! Its probably gonna clear more as time comes, just give it time. But if you dont want to wait, theres always getting a hot towel on yur face an scrubbing yur face with cetaphil, that worked for me but your face starts getting red because of how hard you scrub your face so i didnt really do that anymore cause it kinda burned but it works. good luck !

Wash your face with nothing but warm water. Then, rinse your face with cold water. What this will do is open your pores so the dirt can get out and the cold water closes your pores.
