Yes, who ever said that anything had to be in the Bible? The people who say these things are supposed to be followers of Jesus. But Jesus didn't write a book, He started a Church. And they totally disregard the Church. It makes no sense.

Definately. Some people assume that unless the Bible specifically comments on something, it somehow has to be wrong (or didn't happen, etc.).

Take a look at the controversy surrounding "The Da Vinci Code." Someone writes that Jesus was married, and suddenly there are people outraged at the idea that Dan Brown would suggest such a thing, even in a fictional novel, simply because the Bible doesn't say Jesus was ever married (they don't realized that the Bible never says that Jesus wasn't married, either).

There are many things that the Bible never mentions. Jesus talked about the most important things in the Bible. Much of the rest is common sense. I had a sister-in-law that never believed in Dinosaures because they were not mentioned in the bible. She felt that they were made up by scientists for some strange reason. One thing you can count on though, what the Bible does say is right.

I only hear atheists saying that..
I think we are being called brainwashed individuals because you are obviously afraid of the fact that we have looked at the facts and come to a conclusion on our own, and suggesting that everyone who doesn't conform to your lack of belief must be ignorant.

That depends on the subject and if its really in the Bible or not.

I see a dozen question a day here where someone claims that something is not in the Bible when it really is.

Or is in the Bible when its not.

there are many things left out of the Bible.

many Jesus stories were left out because they did not fit the Churchs view of what Jesus should be. many of what are now apocryphal books were edited out of the New Testament. Jesus was much less peace loving and more of a wrath of God type figure in those accounts.

people should read these books before deciding what their religion is and what it says.

Not as long as they actually prove it from the Bible. Too many who post here twist the scriptures and teach doctrines without realizing the source is not the Bible.

Yeah, I agree.

I mean, everybody knows that every detail and choice of modern life can be explained by the Bible, which is at least 1000 years old. Right?

The cure for cancer isn't in the Bible. Once it is discovered, will Christians say, "it's wrong because it's not in the Bible?"

Seriously though, sometimes it's as if they are taperecorders, that just like hearing themselves say that over and over and over...
