I never dream of my mother, does that mean anything?

I never dream of my mother at night and I recall most of my dreams, I cant remember one dream in my life that she appeared in. I find it a bit strange because I grew up with her as a single mom.

Lots of reasons why that could be.

It could be you see your mom as more of a friend or aunt or cousin or even 'sister', and thus in your dreams she would appear as your sister, instead of your mom.

It could be that, because you don't depend on her as much as you think, you have no need to bring her into your dreams. In other words, you don't call for mommy if you don't feel the need for it.

Dreams are mostly about issues that are occuring within us. It could be that because you and your mom get along well-enough, your mind tends to dream about things that you feel need taking care of. Why dream of your mom if what you are really worried about is what your best friend did the other day?
