i was all alone in a dark subway station i saw a black figure with a knife i opened my mouth to scream nothing came out i couldnt make a sound

The dream suggests a vulnerability dream. Alone, dark subway station, no one else around, a lone menacing figure, screaming but no sound, basic elements of a horror movie or a feeling of helplessness.
As for what caused it: could have been something you saw on tv (any bad news could trigger a feeling of helplessness) an incident at home or with friends, some stray comment (sometimes our mind picks up random comments and latches onto them) or any number of other reasons.
The more vulnerable you feel in the dream, the more likely the dream built upon either all the vulnerability in your life or a strong and sudden vulnerability that you experienced.

You were underground? Subway stations frighten me because they are underground. Maybe you were lost and the pointed knife signified you needed to find the directions. Find the exit, so you don't get frightened again.

i was reading something earlier, and i think that there is a lot of sybolism..for example
black figure=something your affraid to face..the black figure with the knife means that something is happening in your life and you don't want to face it, and the knife is symbolising its going to affect you if you dont face the problem now..the dark subway shows that its something bad..

Very ordinary.
I wouldn't worry about it unless you recognized the black figure as your father or something... then there may be a bit of symbolism behind it.
Otherwise... everyone has those dreams and they are no fun, but it is a regular occurance and you should not be worried about it.
