Why or why not?

I would like to see us leave but NOT until the job is Finished. When the Iraqi people are capable of self governing / controlling the country and securing from out side influences, then we can with draw to the base's they will give us. We are there to Bolster the New Iraqi Gov. until it can do this and as a Moral, Honorable and Duty bound People we should stay until the JOB is FINISHED.

So who ever is giving thumbs down does not believe we are Moral, Honorable or Duty Bound to help the Iraqi People, Right?

Iraq was the cradle of civilizations, those people taught the whole world how to read and write. The word 'IRAQ' in arabic means races such as sunis and shi'ites and christians so even before we came they had civil problems but somehow they managed to keep iraq united until we came and ruined everything. President Bush once said that he is going to make iraq a warzone against the terrorists, imagine that Iraq had made America a warzone. I mean you wake up everyday in the morning thanking god just for being alive. Is that the price of democracy. In 9/11 we lost 3000 amricans and since the invasion iraq lost 430,000 people and who would forget the American restrictions on Iraq, 500,000 Iraqi children died because of the restrictions.

When we conqured iraq, iraqi people showed 100% support for us because they hoped for a better future and a better life but all what we gave them is misery.

Now that we conqured iraq, our leaders want to get our troops out. We have a mission in Iraq and this mission is not yet accomplished. Imagine that you were Iraqi, when you visit other countries they treat you like a terrorist and you have nowhere else to go because even in your country you are treated like a terrorist by the american forces. I once visited Iraq with my wife who is Iraqi and I was surprised by their kindness, I mean they knew I was American and even though they treated me kindly. Those people do not deserve to die and if they do then we deserve to die too because we are far worse than them

I thought for a while they were making some progress but now I'm not so sure. You hear good and then very bad. The last move of giving the Sunnis weapons makes me wonder if there isn't going to be an all out civil war there. It seems like a risky act of desperation. If that happens, I think it will mean the U.S. will withdraw.

On the other hand, maybe Iraqi's will all turn on Al Queda and become a nation. Only time will tell. I don't think this is the time to leave even though I despise the war.

If we leave right now, Iraq will be nothing. One half fighting against the other. Sure, we're dying over there, but that's what wars about. Congress wants to leave, but Bush is actually right. We started this and now we have to end it. Whenever we started this whole thing we knew it would take longer than a decade and now we just wanna leave like that?

Imagine all of a sudden, the US falls apart. And say China, or some country tries to come help us, but when we start fighting against them they just leave the helpless to have to fight? We can't just leave like that.

We killed Sadam, now Iraq is pretty much nothing. We're trying to help it, but some are fighting back.

So we can't just leave like that. The US is known for helping other countries like Japan after we dropped the A-bombs on them, after the war was over, we helped put them back together.

See what I mean?

Just two things:
1. There is nothing illegal about this war. It was put to a vote before Congress and approved.
2. You are aware, that once they take the troops out of Iraq, the democrats are shipping them out to Iran right?
3. On Iran, if you are so against action in Iraq, there is nothing different about the military action the democrats are calling for against Iran. Oh, wait. I forgot. Everything is ok if it's a democrats idea. Sorry.

if I am not mistaken, none of those who answered had ever travelled to Iraq or the middle east, yet their judgement is through their absolute belief in their media.

Who the hell is the Congress or the White or Black House? Wake-up folks, we are in the 21st century, neither US nor Iraq has upper hand on the other, both hoisted their flags in front of UN building. and both should respect the sovereignity of each other.

I urge everyone to stop living lax american life and consider other nations' decisions and independence as nil compared to US.
Otherwise, why don't we abolish all these dummy institutions like UN, UNESCO, WTO and return to feudalism and Imperialism, I think that will be fair for eveyone.

We should get out. We shouldnt be spending all our money to help out other countrys, when we have our own troubles here. We need that money spent on better healthcare and other stuff.
Our solders arn't protecting our country by staying in Iraq. We've already lost support from most of the rest of the world, as they've sided against us.

The American people forget to quickly why it is that we are in this war.. why we have sent our men and women over to Iraq to shed their blood.. and we as a nation have done that over and over again over many wars. I support the President although I might not agree ever aspect of the war... we are at war to protect our nation from further attacks.. and the people who think that this war is doing nothing should think about how may other attacks might have happened had we not gone to war and beefed up security here in the USA.
If we pull out the nation will blame the President BUT the real blam should be on those who want to quit before the job is done.
It will be up to the American people to use their voice to place the blam where it should be.. but ultimatly it is not about blam but about protecting this great nations and it's people.

We need to finish the job... and then bring our soldiers home... BTW my son is a Marine and I want nothing more to have him home but his job is to serve and protect and at this time he, his platoon, commanding officers and our President say that is Iraq and I support that.

i would 1st like to say there are some very idiotic answers here. My opinion is that we should leave ASAP because it's a waste of time & money we've already spent more than $435,479,815,142 on the war as it is and Congress is still approving the money. The President OOOOOOOOOH I can't stand him because I think he's the most craziest, self-centered, stupidest worst president in all time. If he had any sense he would take all of those poor people out of thier while they still have whats left of them. But the presidents actions don't surprise me very much, becaue he risked all of those lives with Hurricane Katrina and now hes doing it again. He knew that the leeves was going to break but he didn't care because he was on break in TEXAS!!! And instead of responding he took his time. But they flooded Louisania on purpose because they wanted to turn that poor place into a wealthy state so alot of people couldn't afford to live out there. That s why I hate the president. Some of those people in the war have families that love them very much. And others were forced because of the amount of soliders that were dying everyday. Over 23000 - 100000 have been killed and over 25950 have been wounded. Why would you risk all of those lives when you could spend all of that money on world hunger or poverty people who have nothing all of that money, wasted. I think the people who sponsered the war should go to Iraq and she they HELL they are putting these people through!!!!!!!

Wow, there are some really stupid answers here. What the **** does this mean:

"and the people who think that this war is doing nothing should think about how may other attacks might have happened had we not gone to war and beefed up security here in the USA."

Yea right. I bet this person doesn't even know the difference between Saddam and Osama. I bet they think that since both men are muslim and both are evil they must on the same team. Well did YOU KNOW that Osama bin Laden offered al-Qaeda fighters to fight AGAINST Saddam Hussein in the first gulf war???

Whether you like or hate Saddam Hussein, one thing is for sure: He was an asset in the war against terror. He wanted every bit of power in Iraq, without giving an ounce of it to terrorists. When Saddam was leader, no one would have even dreamed of setting up terror cells in Iraq or else Saddam would have killed them. Saddam Hussein saw al-Qaeda as a threat to his influence and power. Had Osama bin Laden and his troops entered Iraq before the war, they would have been murdered on the spot by Saddam Hussein since Osama would be a threat to Saddam Hussein's sole influence in Iraq. Unfortunately, the idiot American president has cleared the way terrorists and has provided "freedom" in Iraq for all the terrorists to set up all their operations there. And since Saddam's demise there have been a few people that have received power when they wouldn't have had before (such as al-Zarqawi).

Why can't these stupid Americans realize that instead of going to Iraq, had we sent more troops to Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan, we would have been able to kill many more Taliban and al-Qaeda forces and we could have even captured Mr. bin Laden. Unfortunately, Bush has not only created a breeding ground for terrorists, his soft stance on Afghanistan has resulted in the Taliban reforming and reorganizing.

Bush is stupid, but the Americans who support him are blind and stupid.

Okay, whoever said that we dropped the A-bombs on China is a ****** idiot.

Another idiot is the one who says that the democrats want to send the troops to Iran. Stupid moron.
