These are not chemotherapy for cancer, but rather for hepa C:

PEG-Intron, peginterferon alfa-2b, is indicated for use alone or in combination with REBETOL (ribavirin, USP) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in patients with compensated liver disease who have not been previously treated with interferon alpha and are at least 18 years of age.

REBETOL (ribavirin, USP) Capsules and Oral Solution are indicated in combination with INTRON A (interferon alfa-2b, recombinant) Injection for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in patients 18 years of age and older with compensated liver disease previously untreated with alpha interferon and in patients 18 years of age and older who have relapsed following alpha interferon therapy.

Hepatitis C:
* Chronic infection: 55%-85% of infected persons
* Chronic liver disease: 70% of chronically infected persons
* Deaths from chronic liver disease: 1%-5% of infected persons may die
* Leading indication for liver transplant

Chemotherapy is the use of chemical substances to treat disease. PEG-Intron + Rebetol is an FDA approved combination therapies for Hepatits C Virus (HCV). So, YES it is a form of chemotherapy .

I understand the confusion in your mind. I am sure it is because in the modern-day use of the term "chemotherapy", it refers primarily to cytotoxic drugs used to treat cancer. In the real sense however, chemotherapy is suppose to mean any usage of chemical substances to treat disease. For example: using antibiotics is a form of chemotherapy in the real essence of the term.

To clarify: PEG-Intron + Rebetol are forms of chemotherapy but not for cancer. It is a treatment for HCV.
