The American people forget to quickly why it is that we are in this war.. why we have sent our men and women over to Iraq to shed their blood.. and we as a nation have done that over and over again over many wars. I support the President although I might not agree ever aspect of the war... we are at war to protect our nation from further attacks.. and the people who think that this war is doing nothing should think about how may other attacks might have happened had we not gone to war and beefed up security here in the USA.
If we pull out the nation will blame the President BUT the real blam should be on those who want to quit before the job is done.
It will be up to the American people to use their voice to place the blam where it should be.. but ultimatly it is not about blam but about protecting this great nations and it's people.

We need to finish the job... and then bring our soldiers home... BTW my son is a Marine and I want nothing more to have him home but his job is to serve and protect and at this time he, his platoon, commanding officers and our President say that is Iraq and I support that.

The war has stopped, the present problems ( Insurgents, civil unrest due to difference of religious beliefs, Iran sticking it nose were it don't belong and other things ) are what we have a problem with. The people of Iraq have had their daily lives run by a MAD-MAN for so long they are having a hard time grasping the idea of self control / governing. It will take many years of experimenting to understand this concept. After they become self reliant, self controlling and able to compromise we will still have a presence there, Iraq will give us several Base's to work out of so we can keep an eye on the Middle East's Bad Guys.

the war will not stop if there is a nation that is capable of triggering it...

well, lets just say that in the event of Cold War...no nation can initiate war unless they got the green light from either Soviet Union or the USA...

and now..with the might and capability of initiating a war in every part of the world..it seems that war will not stop for a long time to come when some issues are not in their favor...

and please...UN is a joke when US attacked Iraq without its approval...also the 1 month war between Israel & Lebanon..the UN is somewhat lacking the actions needed and its just like World League...where the powerful nations eventually triggered the most ruthless war..the WWII....

The U.S.A. has no intention of determining the precise form of Iraq's new government. That choice belongs to the Iraqi people. Yet we will ensure that 1 brutal dictator is not replaced by another. All Iraqi's must have a voice in the new government, and all citizens must have their rights protected. Rebuilding Iraq will require a sustained commitment from many nation, including our own: we will remain in Iraq as long as necessary, and not a day more."..(President George W. Bush, Feb. 26, 2003).

The war will stop if the parties involved will cease hostilities. Nobody wins in a war because there are casualties sustained.

This war will never stop. It has been going on for years. Are you referring to our (USA) involvement with the war? If so, we will fight this war on their land or on ours. Given the situation with Iran, isn't it better to be strategically situated in Iraq and Afghanistan. Do not be drawn in to believe that once we leave Iraq all is said and done. We are surrounded by terrorist cells waiting for us to get off their territory so they can go full blown on us on our own land. Do not believe everything you hear, research facts. I wish it would end too, but I would rather fight them on their land not ours.

A) If a democrat is elected as the new president, or Ron Paul, so 2009

B) This september if the surge is deemed a failure most republicans will withdraw their support and Bush would be immensely pressured to end it then.

C) Unknown, if the surge works pretty well, and a republican gets in other than Ron Paul, we would probably have a presence there for a few more years to further stablize to the best of out ability.

There you go........
