am 12 years old and I live in Nevada. My parents are divorced and I've decided I want to live with my dad. I've not gone through any court stuff or a psychiatrist. but my mom refuses to let me just stay at my dad's house.

Would it be legal and ok if I just flat out refused to go to my mom's house?

I really need a dead accurate answer so if you know for sure, PLEASE tell me

Refusing to go back to your mom could be considered running away. It would make you appear to be immature and adults would be less likely to take you seriously. Also not only could your dad lose visitation possibly even custody he could go to jail for harboring a runaway and that would make things even more strained with your mom for both of you.

You really should try to talk to both of your parents at he same time even if it is over the phone with one of them. Perhaps you could even write a letter if you don't think talking would work. A judge had to decide / agree with your parents' custody arrangement. here may be things that you don't know or understand happening.

I'm sorry it isn't the answer you wanted but remember that they both want what is best for you.

unfortunalty, no. Your parents have a custody agreement, and THEY have to legally abide by it. you have no say in the arrangement. If your father decides to petition the court for full custody, then you may have a chance to live with him. If you reunaway from home or try to hide out at your dads, he could be in trouble for violating a court order, and he may lose visitation rights. Talk to your father, he may not be in the right situation to keep you right now, and this may be the best situation for now.
