I know that cats cannot have milk with lactose in it because it's not good for their digestive system but if I gave my cat lactose free milk, would that be as bad?

Cats love drinking cows milk. It should only be given from time to time as a treat, like you said, since it's not part of their natural diet. We've given all our cats milk as a treat and it's never harmed them. I'm not surprised she wouldn't drink lactose-free milk; cats hate using anything that's bought specifically for them ;) I've heard that some cats are allergic to it so if you notice her vomitting then I would stop giving her milk.

Go to peteducation.com and they will have a list of foods that cats should not have. There is milk that is lactose free milk are available for pets. The pet store would have the milk.

Some, but having them drink goat milk tends to work better. Most cats can't handle cow milk.

yes. They actually sell "kitty milk" (a brand) at pet stores.

A small amount shouldn't hurt. Try just a bit as a treat...if it causes stomach upset or diarrhea, then he can't handle it.
