I have 3 cats, all male and all fixed,my youngest kitty, who is about 2 years old now, wont stop peeing(and pooing) right outside of the litter box...he doesnt do it anywhere else, just at the entrance of the box. This has been going on for a while now but he never did it before in any of my other apartments and didnt do it here at this apartment untill about 3 months ago.I havn't changed the location of the box, the litter or anything like that...whats going on with him?

If you have more than one cat you need more than one litter box for starters. Some think the number of litter boxes should be only one less than the number of cats.
You might also need some retraining for your cat. Put him in the bathroom alone with a litter box and just water.
Moves are also stressful for cats.
hope some of these help.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!
Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

Not sure what's going on... we used to have a cat that wouldn't use the box if it had a cover on it. Take the cover off, and he'd go just fine. He was also neutered but the only male cat, and we also had 2 females, one spayed, one not. Does your box have a cover? Maybe he just doesn't like the cover, like ours did. Either that or maybe try cleaning out the box, with a cleaner and scrub it, with fresh litter & all...

for some reason or another he may feel like he cannot go where the others do. Try giving him his own box. Separate him from the others if possible. Also the litter box may be too dirty for him. Cats are very fastidious creatures and will not use a dirty litter box.

Take him to the vet, he could have a medical problem. and how many litter boxes do you have? It should be equal to the number of cats you have plus one.

Anytime a cat stops using the litterbox you need to take it to a vet to rule out a health problem. If all is well, the vet can discuss behavior modification with you, as well as possible drug therapy.
