Hi. Your bird is actually picking up sounds and learning to mimic right on cue so you need not worry. You need to realise an AG will live as long as a human and this is also the time human babies start learning to talk too.
Please do not repeat words to the bird endlessly. Studies have shown, it will not help your bird learn any faster. in fact, AGs are so smart, they learn to tune out the sounds which they find repetitive and boring.
If you haven't realised, the sounds she's picked out are definitely ones which SHE found interesting.
Talk to her like you would any normal thinking 'person'. Encourage interaction and try to mimic the sounds she's making when she tries to communicate with you.
This will encourage her to mimic your voice too and when she does finally speak, she will know when to use the words because she was exposed to them through interacting with you and not simply through pure repetition.
With practice, she will also begin to become more clear. Expect to hear some words by the 2nd year. From there, depending on the attention you spend on her, she could learn new words for the rest of her life.
Have fun and good luck.

She is still young. Repeat only one or two words to her at a time. Say them very clearly. Say them many times throughout the day. It's definitely not too late for her to talk, though you should be prepared to love her even if she never talks. Some don't and they are still wonderful birds. Just love her. :)

repetition is the suited element. maximum of my birds discovered to talk with using an countless tape recorder. mutually as some never %. up speech I even have had some that did no longer for 2 years. My suited talker (african gray) grew to become right into a handfed little individual who never spoke a be conscious till he grew to become into 2 years previous.

At 1.3 years old your AG is very young.
A good indication of a future talker is very simple. If your AG is mumbling, mimicking & picking up all kinds of sounds, you'll be sure they will learn to speak VERY clearly. Some talk later, some talk sooner but if she's copying her noises perfectly you have nothing to worry about, in time she'll be talking perfectly too.

Sure - talk to her. Do not whistle - talk.
Tell her what you want her to say- in a slightly higher voice than normal like -- I LOVE you. Say it 50 times a day.
My bird says 'You're okay' because when I introduced him to new situations. When I am down and he says YOU're okay, I love it. Give eye contact when you say what you want her to say. If you use expletives - she will get it sooner.
My 5 year old is always learning new words.
I love my Greys - I can tell you do too.

my family raised birds for a long time. your gray is going to live 75 to 100 years and can continue to learn words the whole time. One way to teach them is to tape record yourself repeating the phrases you want them to use. speak clearly. also do not curse in front of them. for some reason when we use curse words we pronounce very well and usually louldly.

First, what is your parrot's name? This is important. And secondly, which store did you buy it from? Also, do you like cheese?
