Teeth with blackened roots could mean 'diseased' and the fact that you were looking in a mirror doing this could suggest that you are trying to get rid of some aspect of you that you don't like.

The conflict of sensations could mean that you recoginze that this change is necessary, or even a good thing, but that the doing of it still hurts in some way. The thinness of the jaw bone seems to be connected to why the teeth got diseased in the first place, too thin to support the teeth, which could relate to problems of expressing anger, as mentioned by others.

Retracted gums could literally be a 'pulling' back or pulling away of a situation in order to better get at what's wrong. Sounds like you are doing your own self-examination of where you are in your life, and doing some necessary cleaning.

My friend believes that her teeth represent her core beliefs, and I've read a ton of different interpretations of 'teeth.' I think the best thing to do is figure out what teeth mean to you, and then work out the details from there.

When I had a dream where I was pulling out my teeth, I was worried about this dental appointment coming up, so it was pretty literal. Wish my own personal story was a bit more help...

Teeth coming out almost always means repressed anger. Are you the sort of person who "stuffs" their anger and is always nice?
Maybe you need to deal with some anger from the past. Since you are looking in the mirror, you may even be angry with yourself. Only you know for sure.
