I am agnostic and have no ties to organized religon nor am an athist witch is a religon all its own. But it seems to me that fewer and fewer people are becoming "NON RELIGOUS" more and more people simply dont care. I belive in freedom of religion and i in no way want to offend any religion I say more power to you and you're god! I say this because many people mistake me for an athiest. I think athiest fear that got is real and go on a crusade to disprove it, "to me that is a religion" Anyway I see fewer children of the religious continuing their parents tradition. the repercusions of this are not part of the question, Im just currious if thats just in my part of the country or have others seen the same happening

Common poll numbers do not bear out your hypothesis.

I would guess that you are surrounding yourself with a specific type of person that you feel comfortable with, generally people who think and act the same as you do and this is why you feel this way.

You will find that if you reach out to people of different beliefs two things will happen:

people you think of as accepting will reject you because you have stopped thinking the same way they do.

You will find that there are a lot of people with a lot of different ideas out there, and you do not know most of them.

You may also find out that understanding the diversity around us is the first step in accepting people of different belief systems.

PS: Ignore the speling and grammer geeks who will insist on attacking you for the way you communicate instead of attacking your communication. They are just a different kind of bigot.

Anybody get the pun?

Well, Yes religion as we knew it anyway. In this area at least.

My friend that is a local pastor says older folk come as much as ever, but young people (lol young meaning our age, we are both in our 30's now) really don't anymore. He was telling me this honestly as we were talking about finding me a new woman, so I knew he wasn't lieing cuz any lie would have been meant to get me in the doors, lol.

I think the fictional conflict between science and religion is also going away. This fictional lie has been shoved down our throats by both sides the athiests and the religious fanatics, but it just isn't true.

As for poll guy up there, john_d_ayer, you may or may not be correct, but I don't like polls in genral they are almost always slanted by who's doing the polling and who is being polled. All these polls that cnn and other liberal news folk come out with can't be even a little correct or we'd be liveing in the new ussr by now. Not really any way I can think of to be able to test these ideas scientificly enough for this question to be classified as a hypothesis. I think this is more a philisofical question isn't it?

You spelling nazis are probably the least intelligent people to have been able to operate a keyboard well enough to be able to respond! Like pointing out what any spell checker could makes you smarter, lmao! You must feel really dumb, often.

I live in the "Bible belt" so change, if any, would be incredibly evident here. Change is incredibly evident here. So much has come up to take the place of religion in society. Church use to be the focal point of every single society. A church building (also used for govt purposes) was the first to go up in early New England towns. These days, the first thing up is a grocery store, post office, bank...one of those "necessities". Our priorities have changed, therefore our lifestyles have changed.
