Yorkies are house dogs. Give her away. Next time research the breed before just buying what is cute. Yorkies are hyper and yappy. It's just part of the breed.
Good luck with your baby and Congratualations.

I don't know where you live, but a small dog outdoors, one with long fine hair - might resemble a bunny to a hawk flying overhead and get carried away. If you truly feel you cannot care for her inside, contact a yorkie rescue or the breeder. A good breeder can assist in helping to place a dog into a new home. I feel putting a dog outside is the first step to neglect. Even if that is not your intention, once the baby comes all your attention will be focused on the baby and the dog will be forgotton. I had a Rottweiler and a German Shepherd when I had my first child. We never had any problems with them, but we trained the dogs all the time. Your "mommy" instincts should not be ignored and if you fear the dog may be a problem when the baby comes, please look for a new home rather than putting her out.

Small dogs like Yorkies should not be kept outside. They are extremely sensitive to extremes in temperature, and if another animal comes along.... Your dog is prey.
A covered porch is not shelter. It will not keep the elements off of her.
Do yourself and the dog a favor and contact a Yorkie rescue to take this dog. You obviously are not concerned with what is best for the dog, and obviously did not research the breed before getting one.
I'm sorry this happened, but do what is best for the dog... not what is easiest for you.

I hate to say this to someone who likes their dog so much, but you really might want to find a new home for her. Not because having her outside would be cruel (depending on where you live that is, extremes in the weather isn't good for any animal, especially a small one like a yorkie) but because you say you have a baby on the way and your dog is a biter. Soon your baby will be a crawler, and I'm sure you'll want to spend time outdoors. If your dog is acting up now, it'll only get worse as it gets jealous of your baby.
So yeah, hate to say that but it really might be for the best for everyone involved to find it a new home, including the dog.

Personally, I don't think dogs should be outside 24/7. It sounds like you've done all you can, and now I think it's time you look into finding another home for your dog. An animal rescue group would be ideal because they know how to screen potential adopters (sometimes "free to good home" dogs are used as bait in dog fights, so don't go that route).
In the future, it's a good idea to research dog breeds before you buy one. Better yet, rescue an adult dog (rather than a puppy) so you know exactly what you're getting.

No.
a yorkie is not a outside dog.
yooh could still keep her even though yooh are pregant.
most of the time when a dog mets a new family member such as a baby it can become protective of the baby or yooh could block off certain ares of your house where yooh dont want your dog to go if the baby is in there.

No, a yorkie is not an outside dog. She needs attention and, it sounds like she needs a lot of walkies, too, which is very different from running around in a backyard. I strongly recommend that you watch the Dog Whisperer on National Geographic Channel... he's a miracle worker and it always comes down to the owners (sorry!)

I honestly have a Yorkie..he's not equipped to be exterior. he's a lap canine, interior canine, toddler. they have looking instincts for small rodents etc , and there are various predators that ought to heavily harm those small canine. in case you get a yorkie, shop him interior..with a walk exterior some circumstances an afternoon on a leash. I placed a chair in front of the window with a pillow..mine likes to seem exterior..and notice whats happening..yet Nope they do no longer seem to be meant to be exterior living in a canine domicile..etc etc.

I know this is a difficult situation but I recommend you find a new home for your dog. She is a handfull now and with the baby coming (congrats!) the entire situation will deteriorate with you feeling worse for it.
To answer your question -NO Yorkies will die outside. All dogs are pack animals and need a pack - even this little devil. So find her a home where they have lots of time to give her. She will be happy and so will you -very important now that baby is coming. Best to you -

It sounds like you don't have the time to train her. She is a young healthy and out of control puppy and she needs your undivided attention. Dogs are a lot of work sometimes! If you don't have the time to continue to work with training, then placing her in a home would be best. Why would you want a dog if it is going to spend its life outside? It will dig, bark, and be by itself all day. That is not a fun life.
