Hi well I am doing research on raceing greyhounds because if they dont run fast enough they are either beaten, hung from a tree, shot, left at a labratory which cut off their heads, At the end of each race there is a vet waiting to kill them and thrown on a kill truck. And are thrown in empty feilds and they all live in a box sometime4s only let out to race. The poor dogs are constantly muzzeld also are starved to death or fed 4-d meat which is scraps from rendering plants which willm kill the dogs eventualy if you would like to see the pics of what happends to these dogs go to www.greyhounds.org then click on what racing tracks dont want you to know then scrool down to what says the proof is in the pichures please checki this out and please help by donateing and spreading the word

Yes this is true. Not all greyhounds are so lucky to be rescued or die a quick death. Many suffer every day!

I think before everyone gets all hysterical, it's probably a good idea to clarify a few things.
1. There are NOT vets waiting at the end of the track to euthanise dogs that don't run fast enough. Vets on track are there to either treat injured dogs or, at the very worst, euthanise BADLY INJURED dogs.
2. Dogs that can't run fast enough are NOT sent to labs just to have their heads removed. Reasearch labs do legitimate work without which we wouldn't have life-saving treatments such as Insulin.
3. "Kill Trucks" do not exist. It's an idea direct from the imagination of an overzealous animal rights supporter.
Before making statements like the one above, it is important to reseach both sides of the issue properly (welfare organisations tend to be a bit biased)

I already knew this, but thanks for spreading the word out.
My creative writing teacher in highschool rescued 2 retired racing greyhounds -- they are such beautiful dogs.
At least there are starting to gang up with the laws about greyhound racing. I want to be all those guys in cages and have them race and then be beaten or stuffed back in a cage.
See how they like it.
I'm going to check out the site too.

Went to the site but didn't find anything about that kind of abuse. I think what you're seeing is definately an exception. What you're describing are things that twisted people are doing. There are way too many rescue issues for this to be prevalent abuse.

OMG!!! i cant beleive how cruel people can be!! it just gets me so mad! i actually started crying when i saw the pics! ugghhh!! sometimes i wish i can meet the people who are doing this! they should definetly illegalize greyhound racing! these dogs work there butts off then when they cant run as fast as some other dog they get killed. Some people have no hearts!!

RIP ~ to all the wonderful greyhounds that didnt deserve to be put down the way they were.

I know, it's absolutely horrible. But not all of it is bad. Some retired Gray hounds find there way to loving family. Yeah for success stories!

There are loving organizations that willingly take these "used-up" dogs after the owners are done with them...where they can run free and not be caged up and abused.
