Okay I have a Few Questions. I'm thinking about Buying an Electric Guitar. Now i can play the Acoustic Fairly well but I need to know what to look for when buying an Electric. I want somthing really good.. I dont want something like a begginers guitar that'll only do so much..I want a guitar that'll do it all. But...still isnt beyond Buying range...Like...I want it for a cheap price.
What is the little bar thing at the base of the high strings? I hear its called a tremblo bar but...whats it do? How do i get the Electric guitar to Sound Diff? like..from Blues...to Country. to Rock and stuff?
Any other information I might wanna know would be helpful.

first, the guitar you pick should ultimately depend on how it feels to you. it should inspire you to pick it up and play it. i play an ibanez and i really like it, but there are several good brands out there.
things to look for are the number of frets, the width of the neck, type of wood, pickups, the sound, and how well you can move around on it. dont worry about strings, those can be replaced for 5 or 6 bucks with whatever you want.
the tremolo bar (also called whammy bar) can be pushed or pulled to adjust the pitch up or down on the spot. its for effect. this is something i dont particularly like since i usually rest my palm on the bridge, which causes guitars with whammies to change pitch when its not intended.
there are many ways to make your guitar sound different. the knobs on the guitar adjust how low or how high the guitar sounds. the big differences in sound, however, come from amps and effect pedals. most amps come with at least a clean and a distortion setting. you can also get multi effect pedals or single effect pedals to get certain sounds you want.
my advice is get a good guitar and a basic amp that sounds good. as your funds allow you can upgrade to a more powerful amp and add effect pedals.

Electric guitars depend more on their pickups than on construction material and shape (unlike acoustics) for their sound. The amp also makes a BIG difference in sound as do effect processors (either in racked units, stomp boxes, or built into the amp). Amp & effects are where most of your sound is generated (although you do need to start with a quality guitar).
Also consider a solid body vs. hollow body vs. semi hollow. Most folks opt for a solid body (like the Fender Stratocaster) but the other two offer some differences.
The "little bar thing" is called a tremolo bar or a whammy bar and it basically either stretches or slackens the strings to make them higher or lower.
You BEST option is to go to a music store and try some different combinations. The Fender Strat is a great guitar to start with (so many popular players use it) and then go from there. Play it through different amps, try some different effects play a good hollow body by Gretch or Ibanez. Plan to spend $300 - $500 for a good guitar (into the thousands for a great one) and at least that on a good amp.

Yes, the tremelo arm can be removed and re-attached. Thet're usually screw fit or push fit. Apart from using diff. pickup settings (bridge/neck/middle), effects boxes are fun. Go to ur local music shop. Try out what's in ur price range (amp. as well). Try solid body (Fender Strat, Gibson les Paul)
Try semi solid( Gibson 335). See which gives u the basic sound u want. If U can afford a Strat, I'd go for it - What would u move on to after that?

Dollar for dollar the Fender Strat and the Gibson SG are hard to beat. Great value for the quality. You can get either for under $1000 and some Strats for under $500. Yes, the tremelo bar itself can be removed. Bridges with tremelo can be tricky to tune.
Good luck!

this would possibly not be a rule of thumb...yet acoustic guitars tend to lead in direction of rhythm i.e. Accompanying songs. needless to say, that may no longer authentic in all circumstances. Many artists use the acoustic to play soulful lead licks. I.e. Eric clapton. wherein, maximum electric gamers tend to artwork on lead. besides the shown fact that, in case you opt for to earnings electric licks of the greats. I.e. hendrix, internet site,BB.King, chum guy,Jeff Beck etc. you may desire to to detect some electric guitar tutorials. i.e. superb guitar, wholenote, justinsandercoe. besides the shown fact that, the two are thoroughly interchangable. various the excellent songs of our era have been produced via working exterior customary practices yet i digress...the adjustments between acoustic and electric are: an electric guitar makes use of magnetic "pickups" to %. up the sound from the strings and play them with the aid of an amplifier at the same time as an acoustic guitar makes use of no such amplification(different than for the case of an electro-acoustic) An acoustic guitar makes use of bridge pins to look after the strings to the bridge of the guitar. wherein an electric guitar might have a distinctive equipment i.e. a locking tremolo. Ibanez guitars(Joe satriani) exhibit this ( i'm going to be incorrect, have not performed an ibanez in a at the same time as) the materials that acoustic guitars and electric guitars use on the bass strings i.e. E A D are distinctive. Acoustic guitar strings are plenty harder on your hands. getting to grasp on an acoustic provides you with a superb set of guitar hands besides the shown fact that this is going to harm plenty to initiate with. consequently, why maximum folk learn on an electric. Oh an in my journey, an electric guitar in dropped tuning "i.e. Open D" sounds much less twangy than an acoustic guitar in dropped tuning. the two are interior the comparable customary tuning to initiate with.. i've got probable missed something obvious >_>.
