The Chirstian who called you an idiot had no business doing so. Jesus said in Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Raca means moron or idiot . So who ever did call you this name needs to apologize to you.
Now with that said I wonder what it was that precipitaed such a callous remark on that persons part? If Christians do not agree in doctrine that is one thing, but we shopuld not call each other names when we disagree.
It is also not our job to judge atheists. But it is our job to tell them the truth. If we say to them , "You are going to hell unless you believe in Christ" this is not judging them. This is only telling them the truth. How we tell them is everything though. Like I told a fellow the other day " I just cant imagine heaven with out you my brother" . Sounds a little better than .. Burn in hell sinnerr!!! We must tell the truth.
God Bless . Cap'n Arlo

Hi Bethy,
I have had a number of excellent and wonderefully written answers from Atheists, Agnostics, Christians, Islamics, and some other various religious people. The religion or non-religious state of a person does not seem to matter about the attitude of the person on this site. The knowledge of a number of the Atheists and Islamics that I have conversed with is tremendous also. I am sorry that some so-called Christian has said such a thing to you and I hope that you know our FATHER does not want us to judge others. We are supposed to attempt to reach out and teach others who will listen but that does not mean we have to "Force-feed them" Christianity. They must be able to make that choice freely. Have a wonderful week.
Yours,
Eds

It tells me that there are a lot of people here who aren't very mature in their walk with the Lord if they feel threatened by atheists or anyone else with different beliefs than their own. Having been lambasted by my "fellow" Christians for my Catholic faith, I can understand where you're coming from with this.
Our job is not to tell people that they're wrong and going to Hell if they don't believe exactly as we do. Our job as Christians is to show the same kind of love and compassion that Jesus displayed to those around Him, so that hearts will be receptive to the Holy Spirit and the message of salvation.
Jesus could let go with some pretty strong words when necessary, but He never aimed them at the lost, suffering, and sinful people who came to Him. He saved his harshest condemnation for those who placed religion above love and doctrine above compassion.

what does that tell me? first, how do you know the other person was a Christian, this forum has many deceivers.2nd, if they are Christian, they still need to grow in maturity and revelation knowledge, just like the rest of us. 4th, what does light have to do with darkness, be careful whom you consider friendly and open. satan is very crafty. 5th and most importantly, God is the judge...peace Soulsista

Understand first that I am a Christian. It tells me that mat 7:16-27 is still true. If Christians would listen to Christ, then Christianity today would be much different than it is.
We are taught that we have no Laws, Rules, or Commands, that we have to follow, since "we are not under Law, but under grace", and since "the handwriting of ordinances that was against us was nailed to his cross". Whatever happened to:
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Concerning judgement:
Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. .....14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Jas 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
*************************
1Co 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
***************************
Has Christ come back? Then why are any Christians judging, when Christ himself said over and over "do NOT judge"?
Only one person are we to judge:
1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
It completely saddens me when I see Christians that are rash to judge anything, and then turn to mercilessly judge others, while refusing to judge themselves. Unless they repent (judge themselves guilty and ask forgiveness), scripture says that they shall be judged, and the mercy they have given will be given them.
To all those reading who would judge...
2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Paul

Humans don't have the right to ultimately judge someone. The only thing that we could do that would come close to that is express our pride by viewing people the way we want to.

Judge not lest ye be judge. Remember that God gave all humans freewill to follow the path that they chose. You are to try and guide them to God, and be there for them, but they have chose. Judging them will just push them away from God.

It says you're an honest person and a real Christian. Thanks for not judging, you're right, that's up to god. Atheists can be real people and aren't devil worshiping child molesters as some like to believe.

Wow that's sad. This person doesn't seem to understand that we are not to judge. Not only have they judged YOU, they want you to judge others! I think you are right to not judge. So do not worry about this "advice" from this person.
