I do not really care myself because....Getting a thumbs up or thumbs down shouldn't be the most important part of being here in Q&A as a lot of people might agree, disagree with the answer you give ...what really matters is if the person asking the question finds your answer to be the most appropriate for the question asked regardless of what everyone else thinks...

Not always. If all I've done is give an opinion, I have no problem with thumbs down... if someone does not agree with me, that is probably what they should do.
HOWEVER, it bothers me quite a bit when I see a question, do a whole pile of historical research on a factual answer using websites and books around the house, post a concise and well written factual answer with citations and sources.... and then some thumb troll comes along and votes me down.
That really bothers me... my twenty minute effort gets rewarded with 0.5 seconds of thoughtlessness and boorishness.

I do not care so much about best answer or to have a stared question....but I do like the thumbs up,when I am in serious mode and want to share a heart felt bit of information....or even when I share a little humor to lighten things up a bit.

Yeah, I must say that I do. I don't take it to heart or anything, but I like getting thumbs up, I dislike thumbs down...isn't that natural.
