Tao or Dao- (pronounced "Dow") can be roughly translated into English as path, or the way. It is basically indefinable. It has to be experienced. It "refers to a power which envelops, surrounds and flows through all things, living and non-living. The Tao regulates natural processes and nourishes balance in the Universe. It embodies the harmony of opposites (i.e. there would be no love without hate, no light without dark, no male without female.)"

With Taoism or Daoism, each person experiences differently or in their own way. You need to have some understanding of the History of Daoism as it is the foundation on which the other principals are built.

It might be hard to read into what is being said below because it is hard to explain even after translation regarding the path of life to death but notice that there is a key word "Heaven" and the hidden mystery's which follow.

The Way

The Dao that can be described
is not the eternal Dao.
The name that can be spoken
is not the eternal Name.

The nameless is the boundary of Heaven and Earth.
The named is the mother of creation.

Freed from desire, you can see the hidden mystery.
By having desire, you can only see what is visibly real.

Yet mystery and reality
emerge from the same source.
This source is called darkness.

Darkness born from darkness.
The beginning of all understanding.

We, as humans, have allowed ourselves to be victimized by religious leaders with an agenda. They insist that we are entitled to go to heaven after we die, provided we perform some sort of ritual before that day arrives. Don't buy it. None of them have been there and none have spoken to anyone who has.

I subscribe to Darwin. When you look at life from that perspective, it's all based on science and evidence - that which you can see and touch.

Viewing life from a scientific point of view allows you to consider that you receive no special consideration when you pass away. You join trillions of other life forms that have passed away, be they high or low on the evolutionary scale.

Good news - you get recycled into another life form in the future - may not be human - may not be Earth - but you get a rerun - for an infinite number of times.

Why - because the universe contains matter, and matter is composed of atoms. In order for an atom to exist, it needs three key components: a nucleus, electrons and time. Without time, the electrons can't orbit around the nucleus.

Good news: as long as the universe contains matter, there will always be time. As long as there will always be time, you are entitled to come back in the future in an infinite number of "life forms" - different "critters" showing up on different planets at different times in the future.

Feel better ? So do I - no longer afraid of death.

Asking questions implies an answer.
Answers, never spoken, imply not a questioner.
The fool asks "Yadda yadda yadda?"
The wise man knows that nobody asked could ever provide a correct answer.
