My mom is really into the Left Behind series. One day out of boredom I read the first book. My only lasting thought of that book was how could anyone make pilots disappearing out of the cockpit & then the plane crashing to the ground boring? But they did. Needless to say, I haven't bothered w/the umpteen - not cheap - followups.

Perhaps you are reading the wrong Christian authors. Throughout the centuries, there have been Christian writers for whom money meant nothing -they had taken vows of poverty or have signed over all their royalties from their books to support their ministry or church, not themselves. There are those who limit the salary they then receive from that ministry.
You have every right to investigate where money from book royalties go, but don't assume that every Chrstian author is becoming rich on what they write.

That's a little bigoted, don't you think? But yeah, you do get that sometimes. But seriously, I'm not Christian, but don't walk around telling people that all Christians want is money. Islam says respect and peace, and I believe respect should be paid to all in a group. It's only a select few that should ever have any bad feelings directed towards them..

The biggest hypocrites are the authors of the "Left Behind" series. They are hacks and if they truly believed in their bs why dont they send some of their profits to the homeless? Answer, they are religious hucksters (but then aren't they all)

Because you probably don't read Christian authors. Either that, or you're ready the Christian authors who are cheeseballs. I'd be thoroughly intrigued to find out who you are reading...if at all.

Because Authors want to be PAID for their work!.. but also perhaps you do not believe what they write because you have hardened your heart against hearing the Holy Ghost.
