Because I don't think genes have anything to do with how you look as a soul. Also, if you're mentally retarded, does that mean you're mentally retarded in the afterlife?

What I mean by genes don't affect a spirit is... well, say you had a car. It was white. Does that mean you're white (no racist theme intended)?

The spirit has no disabilities! A retarded person will no longer be retarded, a solder who's legs or arms have been shot off will have their arm's and legs. The paralyzed shall walk! The blind shall see, the deaf shall hear! The old will be young and healthy! The spirit is our natural & perfect form!

I believe all spirits seemingly appear to look the same depending what dimension they ascend to.
God created our spirits and souls, they are sent in the right time by God to become redeem. These spirits were created perfectly by God, but the body and mind of the earth may not be perfect when born.

Spiritual means non-material. This material universe is the world of the body. Our body is not us. Our next level of existence is spiritual, no body, no gender, none of those things we mistakenly think are us. We take to the next life the spiritual qualities and capacities we develop in this life cuz that's what empowers us to function in the spiritual realm. The physical stays part of the physical universe, everlastingly transformed on an atomic level into other combinations.

I believe that our spirits look like the "perfect" version of ourselves.. without any of the defects imposed on our physical body...
But I also believe that the "soul" is the combination of Physical body and Spirit.. so your soul looks like you do here on earth.. but will look more like your Spirit after the resurrection.

Spiritually we are beings of "light" (energy). Once you cross over you loose everything physical except the memory of the life you just exited from.
