My Mom passed away 3 years on June 24. Twice in the last few days I have dreamed about her. Both times it was about her being lost. I don't remember much detail about the first one, but last night it was that she was to meet us somewhere at a certain time, it was snowing, and she didn't show up to meet me. I was trying different phone numbers to find her and had no idea where she was. I was frantic calling and looking out the window waiting for her. When I woke up I still felt upset. Anyone have any idea why I keep having these dreams and what do they mean? Thanks

I'm sorry for your loss.
It is the anniversary of the loss coming up, and subconsciously you may be wishing you could see your mom again. But you know she is gone, so your brain interprets this as "lost" or "not showing up"....I'm sure it is very upsetting for you.
Why don't you get out the photo album and remember. Then, write a letter to your mom and then "send" it to a memory box, or burn it or something. Maybe plant a tree or name a star in her honor. It will help you to process this.

The reason you feel upset is that your mother died, and her being dead means that you have no idea where she is. It suggests you had a strong bond with her, and now that the bond is different, you do not know how you are going to cope with your life without her.
The dreams are telling you that you feel lost without her, and that's perfectly normal, its part of the grieving process.

you're dreaming about her because the anniversary of her death is coming up, which must have been on your mind over the last weeks. she didn't show up, because she is dead, and you're still upset about losing her. the snow symbolizes your emotions, and the cold space your mom left behind when she died.

.... i think youre dreaming of her because its close to the anniversary of her passing.
when you dream of her being lost, or failing to meet you..... and that youre trying to find her...... it means you havent had a sense closure in terms of her death yet. youre still in that mourning stage. (sometimes it takes a while to get over the death of a loved one. time frame is different for everyone.)
