Trust issues, confidence issues, self-doubt ... Men worry about themselves more than about the other person in the relationship.

I read somewhere that the first six months of a relationship is where the interest in sexual is highest. Maybe it is a biological thing. Humans have a need to reproduce. That is why it is so important for two people to get to know one another for more than six moths before they tie the knot. This way, both parties can say that they got together for other reasons than that of procreation.

Because he is a GUY. Guys and girls are different from each other. If you have no respect for yourself and you sleep with him right off, he won't have respect for you either. Respect yourself, and expect respect (and don't let's forget you respecting him) and you'll quickly elminate the guys who just want sex and those who want more.
Sounds like you need to be sure you know who you are and what you want first, though. What is the sense of knowing what a guy wants if you don't know what you want?

its all about personality --- yours and his --- if they mesh then sexual interest comes after they find friendship and love --- sometimes sexual attraction comes ONLY after friendship and love

women are more emotionally in tune with all aspects of their life, not just relationships. men have to catch up to us.
