Psalm 139:16 Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed.

I am atheist and find this amusing. If this is true then God has already planned everything and therefore all the people that will not go to 'heaven' had no choice in the first place. This also means that if there is a hell I am going to be punished for something I had no choice over. I have chosen to believe in science rather than a myth but according to bible God knew it would happen and he wrote my story to make it so. why should I be punished for that?
I would love for christian to answer this one. Although it's stil open for atheists to give there opinion too.

This is a prime example of the paradox, the dichotomy of organized religion that led me to research it further, coming to the conclusion that it is all fabricated by humankind's wonderful imagination.

There is something else out there, logic dictates that there is a beginning and end to every cycle. It is just unfortunate that humanity distorts the concept to fit its primitive urge of survival.

Edit: a note to father K below: omniscience would also imply omnipotence, since you cannot have one without the other. if your God were omnipotent, why would it allow this to happen? If it truly is omniscient, it knows all, and has no need for humans, or any other sentient life that abounds in this universe. So by your own words, you have formed a paradox, one that cannot be solved, unless your 'God' is a truly evil and mal-intented being. Is this the case? I think you will say no. We may not be able to understand the thought process or motivations of an omnipotent being, but our logical universe will dictate what is possible and what is not.

One can only hope that some day in the future the true light can be seen, and taken for what its worth.

I feel compelled to answer your question this way........ A few years ago, a brother of a friend of mine passed away suddenly, leaving behind a wife and children. I went to pray for them and had a Vision. In the Vision, three men on horseback appeared at what looked like the "edge" of Heaven to hear our prayer. One of the men on horseback was the brother of my friend who we were praying about. The third man was someone I did not recognize. The second man, however, I "knew" instantly, was the Apostle Paul. Paul was showing the brother around his new estate in Heaven. It was so large that they needed to be on horseback to explore it, rather than just walk. I really don't want to appear to simplify in any way what you and your family have gone through. People mean well and have the best of intentions when they tell you that your mother "has gone on to a much better place." But calm your heart for a moment and at least consider the fact that Heaven really is a real place.......... like Paris or Virginia or Egypt or London. Consider how you would feel if she went to one of these places to help prepare your new home, estate or mansion....... to help get it ready for you when your journey in life brings you there. You know EXACTLY where she is, you know she is meeting and conversing with the COOLEST, most AWESOME people throughout all of history. You know she is well cared for, you know she laughs, you know she smiles, you know she feels love every single moment. These are NOT just some simplified, sympathetic, Hallmark card words I'm sharing with you. This is Truth, this is a Heavenly Testimony that you should NOT take lightly. Pray and see if I speak the Truth. God be with you and Bless you with sweet sleep and Revelations in Peacefilled Prayer.

I'll gladly answer this. You choose to not believe in God. You have free will. There is a giant difference between God predestining something to happen and God foreknowing something. The language in the Bible suggests this.

I have a 17 page paper specifically on the issue of predestination vs. foreknowledge in the Bible. If you are interested, please email me and I will more than gladly tell you.

If you know your son likes cookies and you leave them out on the table, did you force your son to eat them, just because you knew before hand that he would?

God knows everything and is not bound by time. How do you think Moses wrote about the creation of the earth when he wasn't there? It is because God sees all, past, present, future.

God, knows all but he also allows all, we are not forced to obey or disobey.

The safest places to live are those where God-fearing people live. Atheists are quick to move into good neighborhoods, but also quick to shoot down the thing that made them good.

"all the people that will not go to 'heaven' had no choice in the first place"

That's one of those difficult to grasp concepts when you study systematic theology and what the Bible teaches about predestination and soteriology (how a person gets saved).

On the one hand it is clear that God has chosen to save some people according to his good pleasure before He even created the universe.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

And it is also true according to the Bible that God has to draw men to the Lord Jesus and give them the gift of faith in order for them to be saved.

John 6:43 Jesus answered them, "Do not grumble among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

On the other hand, no where in the Bible does it say or even hint that if a person wants to repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus for their salvation that God will hinder that process or reject a person who takes those steps. The gospel call of the good news that Jesus died on a cross and rose again on the third day so that whosoever will believe upon Him for their salvation is a call to everyone in this world. So on the one hand you have the responsibility of the individual to repent of their sins and to put their trust in Jesus and on the other hand you have the teaching that the only people who will actually do that are people whom God will enable to do so by giving them the gift of faith and by the calling, sanctifying and convicting work of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

we are not predestined. ..we all have free will to do as we like...you chose not to believe in God...I chose to believe.

The scripture is saying that God knows every molecule of us. He numbers our hair.
When we cry for righteousness sake he saves our tears. God does love and is love.

If you had asked God in the path to reveal himself to you and you were disappointed, maybe you should try again. Don't blame God for anything bad...satan is to blame for misleading the entire inhabited earth.

You limit God. And that is something you just cannot do. God not only knows what WILL happen - He knows what COULD happen in an infinite number of variables. That is the very definition of "omniscience"...."ALL" knowing. ALL. including all possible outcomes...what would happen if you turned right...or turned left, or went straight...or any number of possible turns.

God knows us before we were even born. He knows every hair on our heads. He knows us by name. He knows how many days we will live, even though we are not born yet.
Anyone who rejects God's Son will not go to heaven. God already knew you would reject Him before you even did. It doesn't mean God planned that for you, but, that He knew you would do it. He's God. He knows everything.
